What you'll do

Welcome to Austin's #1 booked tour! You're going to love it. Let's meet up for an epic night of kayaking downtown. It's 4 incredible trips in one. 1st you paddle the length of downtown during the day, then we catch the sunset over the water. The bats are the main event and we end with downtown paddle at night! Add in a full moon or bright stars occasionally and this trip is one not to miss!

Covid-19 update: stagger start 2 start times for same trip. sanitize paddles between tours, and more.

Book through me because: I'm a traveler and Airbnb host as well so I know what you want out of the trip. On top of bat facts, i'll give you more freedom to kayak, make sure to take great photos of you on the tour, and make sure you meet other like minded travelers in the group who can share their tips or even join you for a night out afterwards. I've got good travel stories for days and lots of local insight to help you build out the best plan for the rest of your stay. Bad weather = full refund. You won't find a guide who tries harder to make sure you have the best night possible. You'll also be given high quality photos at the end of your trip!

Hi my name is Aaron and I've hosted this trip hundreds of times and still love it!

I know Austin and its outdoors and secret spots better than most. You can usually find me exploring on my dirt bike or swimming. I've traveled to more than 60 countries and I do all sorts of extreme sports along the way. I also rent houses in Austin month to month and organize a lot of social activities for our friend group. If you're coming to Austin and want to explore the outdoors, you won't find a better host. I've hosted guests at my houses since 2010 and on tours since 2011.

This is a really popular tour that I host 95% of the time but friends help when I'm needed elsewhere.

Where you'll be

We will put our kayaks into the water underneath I-35 and then paddle to the Congress Ave bridge which is the main event. We have plenty of time built into the tour to kayak the length of downtown and back to the bridge before the bats come out. We will travel to the bridge as a group and I'll lead and "out and back" paddle for an additional mile if you would like.... go as far as you want at your own pace and we'll re-group before the bats!

Aaron was a great guide. We have seen the bats a few times but never from the water. It was a really cool experience!

So glad I did this with my daughters! They are 18 and 11 and both really enjoyed the experience. Aaron is a wonderful guide and I definitely recommend this trip to anyone looking for a fun, unique, beautiful experience while in Austin.

Melhor experiência! Cindy é extremamente atenciosa e é visível que faz tudo com muito amor e carinho. Além disso, consegui criar o meu próprio perfume, uma experiência que carregarei sempre comigo

We had a great time! About the experience: The river trip itself is very unique (with great views of the bats and Austin downtown). Aaron and his crew made it really special because they managed to deliver us delicious pizzas from the bats bridge!!! :) Aaron also shares lots of local tips about Austin places to see and food to try! About the host: Aaron was very responsive and extremely accommodating. We had to revise our group size and change the date of the event (because of rainy weather) and Aaron had no issue with that. I would definitely recommend this experience to my friends who travel to Austin!

Excellent tour! Really cool to see the bats up close and from a different perspective (under the bridge!). Got to kayak back in the dark which was very peaceful and a good way to end the tour.
