What you'll do

From Hilo Town we’ll head and descend into one of the most sacred of all valleys amongst the Hawaiian islands retracing historic trails and ruins from ancient ancestors. There are reminisces of old structures, a stone water well, traditional birthing rock, and plenty of wild horses to spur your excitement. This is not a an intensive experience although we will be navigating across a light stream with some walking across a black sand beach followed by a 15 minute hike up an incredible 280 degree surprise lookout viewing the entire valley. Along the way we will work with the morning light to simply capture the most natural photographs of you amongst the rugged tropical scenery. A few key concepts I like to capture during our experience together include but are not limited to black sand beach, palm tree, back valley portrait, and our special lookout location. There is also the potential of me introducing you to some locals who currently live within the valley. This should give you excellent insight about what life is like in this place. At the right moment we will take a rest on the beach and enjoy opening coconuts or another local fruit delicacy. I would recommend wearing a versatile outfit that would you give you comfort, style, yet flexibility.
Other things to note
As before mentioned this is a medium active experience in the outdoors. Light and physical activity is required but nothing strenuous. Since Hawaii is a tropical climate rain is always in the forecast but soon passes very quickly and rarely have I ever had to reschedule an experience due to weather.

Im absolutely an adventure enthusiast and an avid learner of life. In 2006 I traded in my city life for a life discovering and pursuing passion in Hawaii. I enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures and when i'm not out exploring I love introducing the island to those who seek an alternative perspective. What I love about photography is the ability to observe thing more introspectively and sharing those concepts with individuals from all over the world. Additionally I'm currently shooting a short film concept that will hopefully inspire others to get out and live more.

We really didn't know quite what to expect, but wow! Johnny was amazing - super creative, provided excellent direction, clearly had some first-rate equipment, and produced an amazing product. I had high hopes, but both Johnny and this location exceeded them in every way! And the finished product - the video, the photos... Just wow. Do this experience - you won't be disappointed.
