What you'll do

We are going to walk a lot around the core of this amazing neighborhood and get to know the history and traditions of many of the most famous places such as the San Juan Church, the neighborhood market, and the Coyote plaza, but we will also visit less touristy places like local churro spots and picturesque streets. There are lots to see here, don't be fooled, not everything is about Frida Kahlo!

I have adapted the tour to make it as safe as possible during this time. Our groups are maximum of 8 people, we'll mostly be in open spaces, and will be as cautious as possible, but mostly we'll be enjoying, walking and learning.

During the tour, we will talk about artists, migration, the war of conquest, religion, handicrafts, symbols, how the cobbled-stoned village of Coyoacán got swallowed up by the city, architecture, colonial life, and even the USSR! All of these have had a huge influence on making Coyoacán one of the loveliest and most quintessential neighborhoods in this huge city.

At the beginning of the tour, we'll get some coffee to get our energies up before we begin to walk.

History has always been my passion and I studied it in university, so I'm also a nerd in that area. I love linking the architecture and current traditions with the history that made the streets, the food, the art, and the places the way they are.

Also, I love meeting people and traveling! So when I can't go somewhere else, I like to explore my town and walk the city with local friends or foreigners, Coyoacán is my to-go place to chill in my city, to walk, drink coffee, tea or get a beer.

I love hosting and teaching different kinds of groups, be it couples, families, friends, or any other. I speak three languages and I have been a high-school teacher, I also have worked with children and elders, so I can explain everything easily and adapt the tour to the wants and needs of the group.

Where you'll be

Three markets, three churches, three parks, three places of important women, and many, many beautiful streets and historic places.

We won't go to the Frida Kahlo Museum, but you can visit it after the tour (make sure to get your tickets in advance) or choose among our many other recommendations!

Coyoacan is a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood. The tour with Pau showed us more than just the major Mercado de Coyoacan. Had a nice history tour about Coyoacan and were able to see different plazas and churches that I would've have sought out. If you're looking for a change up from CDMX and would like to have a quick brief tour of Coyoacan, then I'd recommend this. Not to mention we arrived late and got Pau was still flexible.

Pau is very knowledgeable about the history & culture of Mexico and is enthusiastic to share her knowledge. I was the only one on the tour and it felt like a personalized experience.

One of the most educated guide I’ve ever met within experiences on this App. The tour was excellent, the neighborhood is amazing! Pau paid a lot of attention to the historical facts which are being put into social context. Her explanations of the history of the region through main figures, motives, circumstances, consequences are impressive. I had a chance to dive into historical, cultural, social sides of Mexico-city and Coyoacan easily and in a very friendly manner. Some tips she gave were useful for future staying in the City
