What you'll do

Taste wine in a casual environment with a Boston wine pro

Ever wondered what the common beverages of Colonial America tasted like? Join me for a different type of history lesson! There's no need to walk around the city to experience a new spin on the American Revolution, especially if you're looking for a comfy indoor activity during the winter months. Join me, a certified wine expert and educator, as we taste through a variety of beverages that would have been commonly consumed during Boston's Colonial period. Learn why fortified wines were on the tables of Boston's elite residents, why it was so hard to make wine in America, and the importance of local brewers and alewives. I look forward to sharing some good drinks and conversation with you. Please be advised that our snack may include cheese, nuts, and other common allergens, so if you have a dietary restriction please tell me ahead of time and I will adjust our food selection

We had a great experience with Kim. She knows so much about the history of wine, other drinks and food. It was fun listening and asking questions and hanging out. I went with my wife and a few other people and it was a very unique fun time.

We has such a fun time! Kim is super welcoming and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the history of beer, wine and spirits with an early Boston twist. Leaving with information that you cant find in the history books (and a few bottles of wine that Kim recommended). There were tasty snacks for us to eat during the whole session. The venue was very stylish and intimate. Kim made it comfortable to be ourselves the whole time and stayed to chat with us after the experience! This is not a teacher-student setting, we were conversation and laughing the whole time. Good times.

Wonderful experience! It was a small group of four and it was a perfect setting! I enjoyed the wine shop we were in because it added classiness to the already cozy atmosphere. Kim really knows her stuff! My aunt and I were more than intrigued! I’m glad that we ended our Boston trip with this amazing experience! If I’m back, I will definitely try to catch other additions to this incredible course. Kim is a natural!

A group of friends and I, all of whom are locals, joined Kim’s colonial tasting. She accommodated our large group and the space at Mayhew Wine Shop is beautiful. This is a good activity if you’re looking for a varied tasting of local beers, wines and spirits. Kim provides background about her choices and how they relate to colonial times.

My boyfriend and I attended Kim’s Wine Tasting last weekend. It was one of favorite parts of our trip to Boston. Kim was very knowledgeable about wine, beer and spirits and their history. I learned so much her that I would not have been able to find out on my own. We definitely recommend her experience to anyone that enjoys history, wine/beer, and intimate experiences!
