What you'll do

First, we'll introduce ourselves, because it is always nice to know each other. This is a workshop to learn tsumami zaiku—the art of making small, folded cloth flowers. I would like you to enjoy using cloths to make this delicate traditional craft. Folding cloths to make flower petals requires a bit of a skill, but once you get used to it, you will be able to fold cloths better. I will show you samples, and ask what you want to make. You can choose the cloth and pattern you want to use. I will demonstrate how to fold cloth using tweezers, and how to glue the folded cloth. Children over 5 years old can participate fully. Younger children can join, too, but if they can't make a good one, don't worry, because I will make one for them.
Other things to note
I know time is precious while traveling. I have other available class locations, depending on where you are staying—Shibuya, Ginza, Shinjuku, Ueno.Don't hesitate to ask.

Chikako san was very sweet, courteous and thoughtful. She accommodated my request to change location and gave me clear directions, still meeting me even though I was the only one in the class. She was punctual and bought me a ticket to the cafe and even a drink. We got to know each other and she taught me about the art and gave me lots of encouragement! I left with a new hobby to practice and great memories. I highly recommend her class!
