What you'll do

Good physical condition and confidence riding a Mountain Bike required. Ride a total of 44 km (27.3 miles) with stops along the way. 60% on dirt roads and 40% paved.

The perfect adventure for a HOT day!

Welcome to my home, set on the hillside with great views of the mountains. Will serve you a light breakfast (coffee, juice, tea, bread and fruit) before we begin our adventure.

We´ll ride our bikes 12.5 km to San Andres Huayapam town, home of Tejate "Drink of the Gods" (a non-alcoholic maize and cacao beverage, originated in pre-Hispanic times). At the home of Doña Chabela, a lifetime Tejatera, we will re-fuel with refreshing Tejate and home-made food.

14 km East. we will reach the water reservoir, a hidden paradise. Dip in for a replenishing swim. A plentiful, fresh picnic will be waiting for us there. We have premium portable hammocks that we will set up for you, for those who decide to take a well-deserved siesta. We will have plenty of time (2 hours) to enjoy this wonderful place.

Then, we will ride a short/easy descent of 7.5 km until arrive at "Arbol del Tule" (the widest tree in the world), a must see while visiting Oaxaca. Then, a delicious lunch at our favorite food market, with plenty of options to choose from at this exquisite place.

Our final ride is along a bike path, 10 km West to reach Oaxaca Downtown, to finish off this unforgettable day.

80% dirt road
Other things to note
We will bike from Oaxaca City and head towards the country side. You will experience a very authentic day that requires an adventurous spirit. Be ready to sweat! It will be worth it! You will ride through the rural land in Oaxaca with many interesting contrasts along the way.
