What you'll do
I'm a firm believer that 2020 needs more pancakes! Cheer up the stomachs in your household by making the fluffiest stack of pancakes ever. This is a relaxed, chatty experience that anyone can follow. You can join by yourself, with friends, with a brunch beverage in hand, or even with kids. The cost is per household, the 18+ rating just means there should be a parent present, but kids are more than welcome to join in. All proceeds go to charity. We'll make a plain pancake recipe and talk through how to alter this base recipe to get experimental. You'll have the option to get fancy with cinnamon swirl pancakes, chocolate brownie pancakes, drawing patterns, or adding chocolate or fruit. We'll talk about what adding different things does to the mix, and how to have fun with it. You'll leave with a mini digital recipe book of ideas so you can try many types of pancakes, savory and sweet.

I've been baking all my life and have had my cakes featured on TV. But my favorite thing to make is pancakes! Why? I love that pancakes are quick, easy and delicious (so they're great for inexperienced cooks), but also really versatile when you want to experiment (so a lot of fun for experimental home chefs). I've been hosting elaborate pancake parties for at least 10 years now, with many courses of pancakes from around the world. I've got a big stack of recipes to share! When I'm not flipping pancakes, I bake birthday cakes for underserved children through the charity Cake4Kids. All proceeds from this experience will be donated to Cake4Kids.
About the organization
At Cake4Kids, we bake and deliver birthday cakes for underserved children. They may be in group homes, at a domestic violence or human trafficking shelter, in low-income housing with or without a parent, or even homeless. We aim to raise their self-esteem and confidence with a seemingly simple gift on their special day.
This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to Cake Kids.
What to bring
Two mixing bowls, large and small
Non-stick frying pan or hotplate
Whisk (or other hand mixing device)

1 tbsp vinegar (any type, I use apple cider, could also use lemon juice)
1 tbsp oil (flavorless is best, like canola)
2 tbsp maple syrup + more for topping
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup plain flour
1 tbsp baking powder
Optional extras: Cinnamon, chocolate chips, fruit, nuts, cocoa powder, food coloring -- think about …
