What you'll do

First I will explain to you about my the tradition and festivals that are related with mochi. Then we will go on making 2 kinds of mochi desserts. Anyone can easily and enjoy making Japanese sweets.

--Ichigo Daifuku (fruits other than strawberries are OK) or mochi ice cream (please prepare your favorite ice cream)
--Three-color dango (mochi balls)

If you can get the ingredients, you can make both Strawberry Daifuku and Mochi Ice Cream .

Mochi is delicious to eat, and the process of kneading is fun, the texture may be different from anything you have experienced before.

You will learn the tricks to handling mochi without it sticking to your hands.

This experience is ideal for birthday parties, large group lessons and team building for companies and groups. We also accept requests for dates that are not on the calendar.

Once your reservation is complete, we will send you a list of materials and tools to use in your experience. Please prepare before participating.

The class was in both Japanese and English, and it was nice to be with folks from around the world. The recipes and steps were quite short, and we only made a few pieces of mochi. I wish that we had been taught to make bigger batches. I did enjoy the history and culture stories that she shared though!

This class was a great way to get to learn how to make mochi, well enough to be able to do it again on your own. Miyuki shared great information about traditions in Japan and super helpful tips on making mochi! Can't wait to attempt the recipe again to make more!

We had a great time learning how to make different kinds of mochi and hearing about Japanese culture. A fun, interactive activity that everyone can do remotely in the comfort of their homes.

This was my second class with Miyuki and it was as amazing as the first, if not better. I have wanted to learn to make mochi and daifuku for a long time. I tried making these a few years ago by myself and made a complete sticky mess. At the end of todays class I had made Dango, Strawberry Daifuku and Mochi Ice Cream. All turned out really well and tasted delicious! This was something I needed guidance to learn how to make and Miyuki makes it so easy to follow along. She is so supportive and patient and freely shares her vast knowledge and skills. I also loved the insight and history of mochi in the Japanese culture that Miyuki shared at the beginning of the class. This class is a real cultural experience with great skills learnt. I am now confident to make mochi on my own and am excited to experiment with some new fillings for daifuku and mochi ice cream. I will definitely be looking at some of the other classes that Miyuki offers. Thank you so much for a wonderful morning.
