What you'll do

First I will explain to you about myself and a little bit about where I am and what I do. I will also tell you about our tradition and festivals that are related with mochi. Then we will go on making 3 kinds of mochi desserts. Anyone can easily and enjoy making Japanese sweets.

First we will start off by making the Three-color dango (mochi balls) by boiling them.

Then we will go on to making 2 kinds of mochi in the microwave oven.

--Ichigo Daifuku (fruits other than strawberries are OK) and mochi ice cream (please prepare your favorite ice cream)

If you are allergic to beans, you can also use alternatives so do let me know.

Mochi is delicious to eat, and the process of kneading is fun, the texture may be different from anything you have experienced before.

You will learn the tricks to handling mochi without it sticking to your hands.

This experience is ideal for birthday parties, large group lessons and team building for companies and groups.

Treat your loved ones with mochi on Valentines Day!

I also accept requests for dates that are not on the calendar.

Once your reservation is complete, I will send you a list of materials and tools to use in your experience. Please prepare before participating.

You can also enjoy this experience in person,

Other things to note:
We will be using a microwave.
If you do not have a microwave oven, you can use a steamer in which case please let me know in advance.

If you can't get the bean paste, I'll send you a recipe that you can make yourself, so please prepare before participating.

Each participating person must purchase a ticket (not per device). Children under 13 must attend under adult supervision as we will be using hot water and hot mochi. You do not need to purchase a ticket if you are just assisting.

Miyuki's experience was wonderful! She was an amazing host, offering an in depth overview of Mochi in Japan with a personal touch. Miyuki was able to customize her class based on our group's size and was very accommodating about rescheduling. I hope to be able to attend a class in person some day soon!

Miyuki checked in with you on each step, and she was able to give tips to those who were struggling. The ice cream mochi was my favorite! :)

Very fun class and easy to follow along, not only did we learn how to make Mochi but she explained the meaning and use of Mochi in Japanese culture.

I really enjoyed the class with Miyuki and, of course, the mochi!!! It was my first time making it and it was delicious. Thank you for some tips and tricks!

I loved this class, thank you Miyuki! It was fun (although my skills need some work!) and I loved Miyuki's introduction, teaching me about the significance and history of what we were making. Such a fun way to spend an evening.
