What you'll do

Transport yourself to the Pyrenees right in your own home for the holidays. We'll explore the flavors and history of Basque cuisine during this immersive cooking experience, from my California kitchen to yours!

The Basque Country, located in France and Spain, is a cradle of culinary innovation and birthplace of molecular gastronomy. And San Sebastian is among the top cities boasting the greatest concentration of Michelin Star restaurants worldwide!

Together we will journey through Basque culinary tradition, make a 200-year-old dish called piperade (vegan & dairy-free), and craft a pintxo or two using the ingredients on hand with my secret technique which I'll share. We'll also talk about how to adapt this versatile and classic dish for breakfast, lunch, snacks or dinner—which is especially handy for meal prep during the workweek.

A nice, healthy dish that you can actually use in your life starting today! You go through the steps -- they are clear and you don't feel rushed. All the while you learn about Basque culture. Very nice experience!

I joined this class because she offered vegan cooking. It was not only a simple and yummy recipes but she also explained the arrangement of the dishes. At the 2nd dish (Pinxtos), I made pinxtos that is the leftover from my fridge according to her advise which comvination of texture or flavor....made the pimxtos yummy.That made me more confident to make pinxtos by myself later because it was just a leftover from fridge!

This was a great class! Alex was very knowledgeable about the Basque culture and shared a lot of interesting stories and information with us. The cooking experience was wonderful and the piperade that we prepared was delicious!

You’ll need to stream audio and video to participate.
