What you'll do

I will take you in Florence with mini bus. Let's learn how to cook traditional Tuscan dishes with aromatic herbs! We visit the the cellar where we produce organic wines, we taste wines directly from the barrel, In our organic farm overlooking fields of olive tree and vineyards, we grow a huge variety of aromatic herbs: oregano, dill, thyme, rosemary, and sage that are essential to complement and enlighten our meals. In an unhurried walk through our fields, we will teach you how to recognize and harvest each of them. Once back to the farm we will learn how to prepare pasta (hands-on class) with the supervision of me or Alex or Jim. With flour and eggs we make together "fresh pasta" like ravioli, spaghetti and tagliatelle. We'll lunch together with red organic wine bottled by us in a fresh patio in summer or in our old style kitcken lightned by a fire place in winter.
During the experience, you will have the opportunity to taste olive oil and wine of our own production. After lunch from May to October you can enjoy our swimming pool while in other seasons we will visit the farm and the cellar. At the end of the experience we will take at the station of San Miniato to take a train to Firenze (Santa Maria Novella station, in the center fo city). The ticket train price is 5€ to buy directly at the station. Move by train is the most ecologic and confortable way back

Where you'll be

We will take an unhurried walk though the countryside surrounding our organic farm in the Cerbaia hills overlooking our vineyard harvesting the herbs we will need to prepare the lunch.
The cooking class is taking place in our charming 17th century country house: the kitchen has an amazing old stone sink and a large fireplace. Elisabetta or Jim will teach you how to use the herbs for savory and healthy plates we will eat toghether.

Such a fantastic few hours in the Tuscan countryside. Manuella and Alex were both so knowledgeable, friendly, and fun! They made me laugh and entertained me nonstop! There was plenty of wine tasting from their local vineyard (delicious) and we could hardly move afterwards because we were so stuffed from all of the pasta we ate! Such a great price for value. 10/10 would recommend :)

Insgesamt nicht schlecht, aber phasenweise ziemlich langweilig, da uns ewig lange Kräuter gezeigt wurden. Das Kochen hat dann Spaß gemacht.

Due to changes with covid we actually had Alex and his team who usually works at the restaurant doing ‘pasta mania’. He was very lovely and personable, we had so much fun making the pasta with the other couples and everything felt very special and sociable. We even learnt a few extra styles of pasta. It was all cooked up after we made it with some delicious pre prepared sauces. We were very well looked after at the meal and throughout the day. The tour through the vineyards and wine tasting was very enjoyable and the guide was very sweet. The pool at the end was a great touch especially on such a hot day. A must do experience!!

This was a nice way to get out of the city for the day. I was appreciative of the pickup within in the city center. The location was lovely, especially the herb garden. However, I wouldn´t recommend this experience because I personally use airbnb experiences to do/see/try something that I wouldn´t be able to do on my own or find elsewhere. I especially love the opportunity to connect with the hosts who are locals and can share their stories. This was missing from this experience. The woman who showed us around the winery, cellar and herb garden was a lovely woman and knowledgable. But I would have liked to hear from the owners themselves even if it was just for a short bit. Making pasta was fun and again the person leading it was lovely. At lunch, it was bare minimum provided. Just the two pastas we prepared. The hosts could have made this experience more thoughtful by adding a simple salad and some bread at the least. Also, one bottle of wine for 6 guests (only a white option) seemed a little bare minimum as well. At the end, we were offered to swim at the pool while we waited an hour to be taken to the train station. Even if we did not want to swim I felt forced to sit out in the sun in the pool area rather than sitting at the table in the shade and being offered another coffee, water, dessert or wine. I think for the price we paid this experience was ok. It didn´t meet my expectations or feel special but as I said, it was a nice way to get out of the city for the day.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We tasted multiple white and red wines, made 2 types pasta and ate them over another bottle of wine with everyone outside overlooking the beautiful Tuscan hills and their vineyard. Tasted lots of herbs I'd never heard of before and then finished the fantastic day swimming in their outdoor swimming pool under the sun!
