What you'll do
The entire activity is aimed at first-time visitors to Cologne who have little time and want to kickstart their weekend with getting a general overview with ideas what to do for culture/history, shopping, and nightlife.
We'll start on the right bank of the river on Hohenzollernbridge where we'll discuss the general layout and development of the city while taking in its most beautiful panorama. A stroll through the old town will cover different phases of development and will give you bearings for the city's most important museums and cultural landmarks (history). We'll then move on to the Ringe-region on the outskirts of the city center where a lot of the city's vibrant nightlife takes place. We'll stroll along some of the city's most interesting bars, restaurants, and clubs, both traditional and contemporary (nightlife). We'll finish in the Belgian Quarter with its unique record and clothes shops and services (like the city's best tattoo parlor) where I'll send you off on an afternoon shopping spree. (shopping)
Other things to note
Cologne is very old, I cannot provide a barrier free experience. Walking is limited however, in total roughly 1.5 kilometres.

What's included
- TransportationWe'll change location by underground trains once, tickets for that ride are...
- Identity verified
I'm a history teacher and long-term Cologne resident. I've lived on both banks of the river, now that I'm a young father my family and I moved to the suburbs. For a while, I'm already offering a more extensive history/beer tour through Cologne (English only). This one has a different perspective, provided by someone who has been living in Cologne throughout different phases of his life -- me.
Where you'll be
You will wonder why some parts in Cologne are so ugly and people still love it -- and know about it after my tour. Also, I'll introduce you to the city's peculiar beer rules and its 2.000 years of history.
