What you'll do

The quickest way to get to know Budapest is to go for a walk through the heart of the city, so come along with me as I show you around and get you acquainted with this beautiful place I call home.

We’ll kick start our discovery of Budapest at the Deák Ferenc tér square, the city center of Budapest and get introduced to basic principles of the city. Then we’ll mosey on to the famous Vörösmarty Square, one of Budapest’s most popular squares that is a fabulous cultural node with amazing architecture and frequent open-air markets.

We’ll leisurely roam through famous squares and cool side streets, from Vigadó Square to Kalvin Square. Along the way, we’ll be strolling past the Inner City Parish Church to see how the various eras left their marks in the architecture. For a local gem not known to many outsiders, I’ll bring you to the Contra-Aquincum, a historical park in front of the church.

We’ll then drop by Váci street, the historic shopping street of the city that leads us to the Central Market Hall. To complete the tour, we walk via the National Museum, to Kalvin Square, which is the intersection of Budapest.

To make sure you are well on your way to having the best time in Budapest, I’ll share some insider tips.

We’ll end this discovery walk with fun memories and photos as we say goodbye at a convenient spot where you can continue to hang out with the other tour members.
Other things to note
PLEASE NOTE:
*Dress based on the current weather forecast. We do a chill-paced walk (also on cobblestones), so wear comfortable shoes
*We do not accept late arrivals. Make sure to arrive on time.

Hi, I am Nicholas! I'm a true urban explorer who has lived in countless different places before settling in Budapest, my one and only home. I'm also a collector of old antique things and know where to find great art, unique local venues and hidden ruin bars.

My passion for connecting travelers with the heartbeat of Budapest and with each other has made me the experienced local guide I'm now.

During my kickstart walk, you'll be a traveler, not a tourist, as you'll have a local friend whose job is to ensure you see and experience the most important parts of the city.

Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or in a group, this is a great opportunity to meet new people from different parts of the world. Let’s connect over our love for art, history & culture.

We took this tour on the first day and it was definitely worth it! We had a great time with Nick who introduced us to the city and helped us plan our remaining days! Would definitely recommend this tour for first timers in Budapest or just those who want to know more about the true side of Budapest from a local!
