What you'll do

You'll meet me,my guides and the horses at Cheekye Ranch - near our large red yurt. You may even pass a few dogs, pigs or a donkey on the way in! We'll sort out gear, paperwork and do an introduction to our guides, horses and how to safely ride a horse. Once everyone is up on their steed and we've done a final safety check, we'll head out as a group towards the trails. We'll pass by other paddocks of horses most likely standing at the fence to greet you, and then enter into a lush green forest of trail and old growth trees. There will be plenty of time for photos as well as you ride alongside the river with the beautiful surreal mountains as your backdrop. We'll keep an eye out for eagles perched in the large trees and other wildlife that may be around. Your experience is going to be as unique as you and your group are! We customize our journey based on the groups comfort level and experience. From experiencing the scenery at a walk, to getting a little more giddy-up, every day is different with us at Cheekye Ranch. Once we return back to the ranch please feel free to stay and help untack the horses, groom them and spend some time thanking your new buddy for the great tour.

Megan

I am the Volunteer Coordinator and on the Board of Directors for Second Chance Cheekye Ranch, the charity that operates within Cheekye Ranch. We serve to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home horses from slaughter and other unfortunate circumstances. I have a background in tourism, many years experience working with horses, and am a licensed paramedic in BC with the ambulance service. I am passionate about showing guests our beautiful terrain through a safe and unique experience on horseback. I love to tell the stories of our horses and how they've come to Cheekye Ranch to take you on an adventure along side the river. I'm excited to show you, your and family and friends what an amazing place Squamish is to experience on horseback.

Where you'll be

Our adventure begins on the Cheekye Ranch, a 60+ acre property that lays against the Cheekye and Squamish Rivers. We'll be exploring around the confluence of the Cheekye and Squamish River, a mecca for eagles that only our guests and locals get to see. We'll be travelling through some lush old growth forests and trails that offer a unique view of our Tantalus Range mountains.
