What you'll do

The adventure begins at an agreed meeting point or when passing through their respective hotels in a travel sprinter, later the journey will take about 2 hours to a town to have breakfast and fill us with all the morning energy. After breakfast we will travel about 1 hour to reach a lagoon, where we will begin the walk. During the ascent we will learn about nature, local-Andean culture and sacred medicinal plants that we will find along the way along with wonderful views of the Apus (sacred mountains). After about 3 hours and 45 minutes (with rest stops and photos included) we will arrive at the archaeological site of Waqrapukara where we can take a break, eat our travel box lunch, admire the view and appreciate the place.

This walk is a great opportunity to get in touch with yourself and learn about Mother Earth (Pacha Mama). Upon our return we will descend about 3 hours (with stops and breaks included) through a town where our transport will wait for us and return to our starting point or leaving them at their respective hotels.

I am Julio a descendant of Quechua and a lover of walks and unique adventures.
My sense of life is to share and receive experiences / knowledge with people from all over the world with joy.
Mountains have great power and it is wonderful that they share that power with us when we visit them with that yearning for adventure and spiritual growth.

I have been a hiking, tourism and mystical tourism guide for more than 25 years. I have had over 900 tourism, eco-tourism and mystical tourism groups that I have led and who have shared amazing and fun experiences.

Where you'll be

We will visit a religious, administrative and political temple influenced by pre-Incan cultures (Wari-Chancha, Wanka, K'ana and finally the Qanchis). Along the way we will meet many natural wonders, sacred plants and perhaps some adventurers since it is a little-known route.

It is very likely that throughout history, Waqrapukara had other names: Tanpupukara, Llaqtapukara and Ayapukara.
