What you'll do

Tour: 3.5 hours tour including 2.5km walk(Elevation difference 250m)
Please make sure your travel insurance is up to date.

You will meet me at Daimonzaka bus stop. (bus from Katsuura st. :20mins).
We will walk up the cedar-lined Daimonzaka.
I’ll show you lots of photogenic spots!

Visit Nachi Grand Shrine and Seigantoji-temple.

If you have "Goshuin book 御朱印帳”, you can get original seals.
※ Goshuin (御朱印) is a seal stamp given to worshipers and visitors to Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples: Buddhist monks, or Shinto priest to create the shuin, the writer presses down one or more large stamps, and then uses black ink to write, in his distinctive calligraphy.

While we visit historical parts, I will explain about Pilgrimage paintings; Nachi Sankei Mandala.

We will have rice cake mochi with red beans, tea or coffee!
I will see you off at the Nachi waterfall bus stop.

Please wear comfortable foot wear for walking.
Other things to note
I have one pair of emergency rain gear for female.
However, you should have proper ones.
Using umbrella is not recommended on the trail.

We keep the routes clean and take away all trash.

I am a licensed guide interpreter for the Kumano Kodo area since 2014.
I offer hiking tours in the local area. Nachi Katsuura town is the spiritual place where the big waterfall is worshiped.

I have had the fortunate experience of living in and visiting many countries, including Australia, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia and Bangladesh. I speak Japanese, English, and basic Bengali.

I grew up in Osaka and have also lived in Hongu. I moved in the beautiful village in Nachi Katsuura town in 2015. My family grow vegetables, rice & organic tea.
I would love to show you around the villages. Also, I can give you lots of tips about making the most of your stay here!

Where you'll be

We will walk through the shrine torii gate, visit one of the oji-subsidiary shrines, walk along the ceder lined up Daimonzaka which is the most photogenic sight. You can feel the nature, hear birds from the forest. Then we will walk up staircases to reach the Nachi Grand Shrine, Seiganto-ji ,temple, walk through three storied pagodas to the Nachi waterfall.
