Well, it wasn't a great experience. A lot of it definitely had to deal with communication barriers. But I was told initially that I would be picked up at my airbnb. The van actually waited on another street. This would have been fine, if I had known I needed to walk somewhere to meet the van. When I called, the driver didn't speak English so I wasn't sure what to do. Eventually I just started walking/running around to try to find the van. I would recommend just picking a meeting spot (if not the hotel) and sending the exact address. Then, when we departed the train at the town before Machu Picchu I was told there would be someone yelling my name. This person would have my bus tickets to actually get to Machu Picchu. When I got off the train there was only one person holding a sign that said Erin. I told him I was Erin, but he told me he was looking for a different Erin. As people trickled out of the station, he continued to yell for "Erin Noah" and I again approached him with my passport to show that my name was Erin. He again told me I was not the person he was looking for. I approached him a third time before giving up and just assuming there must be another Erin. So, at this point I am panicking because I had wasted a lot of time (30 min) trying to find my "guide" and I knew my Machu Picchu pass was only for a three hour window. So I found another personal guide who thankfully calmed me down and helped me purchase the bus tickets. As I was waiting in line for the bus, the original guide came up to me and said I was the correct Erin. He apologized and I got my money back for the bus tickets, but it was all a pretty stressful experience. I had also already given the new guide 100 soles. The Machu Picchu tour itself was great. It was a different guide, but he was really fun and made the time at Machu Picchu very special. After we took the bus back to the train station, we had a period of 3 hours before our train would depart. It was quite a bit of time to just hang around, and I would have much preferred getting back to Cusco at 5:30 rather than 8:30. So I would recommend shortening that time period, personally. Anyway, I'm sure this is a one off experience and I would still recommend the tour, I just had to leave an honest review about my experience.

I was extremely satisfied with my trip to Machu Picchu, the guys here were very helpful in my last minute booking, I was worried as anyone would be with a last minute trip, The day couldn’t have gone better for me, it’s very smooth and simple, I met my guide Miguel at Machu Picchu station, as I booked last minute I ended up with a personal guide for a small amount more, this worked great for me and I suggest getting a personal guide, Miguel was extremely knowledgeable and took some great pictures for me.. I would highly recommend using this service.. Great day. Great tour operators. Lifetime experience smoothly completed.. Thanks guys 🙏
