What you'll do

The Golden Horn (Haliç) is a geographical and historical Wonder of Istanbul!
In our opinion the Beauty of Istanbul is because here History and Landscape, at their very best, meet and join.
A natural fjord, the blue sea finds its narrow way between two coasts of lands, picturesquely adorned with villages plenty of colorful houses, hills of cemeteries, majestic mosques, old churches...
We will see these wonders, FROM the sea, sailing with the local FERRY, from the PUBLIC transportation company, the famous iconic "Vapur" Istanbulians regularly use
We reach the beautiful and quiet historical neighborhood of Eyüp, the undisputed religious center of popular Islamic Istanbul, where a very important old Ottoman mosque and monumental cemetery are located
We will eat the typical "Eyup Güveci", a street food item unique to this neighborhood
Other things to note
We are tied to the timetable of the ferries, and they are only once every hour! Therefore please BE PUNCTUAL to the meeting point

I am a food and Istanbul lover. Gourmet and traveller myself. I work in university here and run a few homestays.
We are in love with Istanbul, its backstreets food, its secret places, dark corner, forgotten churches or hans, its sublime mosques, its touching beauty.

With Airbnb Experiences we thought a series of interesting experiences, for day and night, that would combine learn, fun and authenticity, and could provide you with some experiences a visitor would not be able to accomplish in short time alone.

Please feel free to look for our other offers from the profile and enjoy the discounts we allow for multiple experiences guests

Where you'll be

We meet at Karakoy and take the Golden Horn Ferry Line upto the last stop, Eyüp
The view FROM the sea is amazing: just like a movie the old bazaars of Eminonu, the great mosques of Suleyman and Fatih, the historical villages, the Orthodox Churches, Fener and Balat, the Roman Walls, everything slowly discloses in front of our eyes
After four bridges we reach Eyup. We visit the historical area, the Mosque, the cemetery and... the famous Güveç :)
