What you'll do

The first 30 minutes will be a tutorial on sustainable wearable art, natural fiber textiles, and why these are important to all of us. We will examine the remnants I have on hand, as I explain a little about the fibers. You will be able to handle each of the remnants as we talk about them. I will also talk about my techniques for working with remnants, and why I do it.
The next 90 minutes will be a hands-on workshop making a simple, fun accessory with the remnants I provide. You will learn a little about hand sewing techniques, as well as knotting, twisting, and tying with textiles to create a wearable work of art. And of course, you will be able to take your wearable art home with you, to either wear yourself, or gift to someone special in your life.

I have taught Sustainable Business Practice at the University of Arizona. I give workshops on how to make clothing with remnants.
I think a simple workshop on making a cool accessory with remnants would be fun!
