What you'll do

Mountain biking in KL is unique. Thick jungle surrounds you, which makes the trail fun and scenic to ride. I will take you to locations based on your experience level. Safety is paramount. If you are not careful, you can get hurt in this sport. So, If you are a beginner, I will teach the basics including balancing, braking and manoeuvres. We ride at your own pace and I will take you to an easier trail. This will be in FRIM (Forest Research Institute of Malaysia). If you are an intermediate rider, you can choose between FRIM and Bukit Kiara. Bukit Kiara is an advanced trail, but I will ensure that the route chosen will follow your competency. If you are an advanced rider, Bukit Kiara's advanced trails will surely satisfy you. Whichever level, guests will have a good sweat riding through various terrain. A good workout will make you hungry. So we will have an authentic banana leaf rice meal at the end of the ride. Duration is also flexible. If you are hard pressed for time, we finish according to the time specified. But if you just can't have enough of it, I will entertain you to longer rides at no extra charge.
Other things to note
My bikes are free of rental. Or you may rent at RM 85 for a hardtail bike or RM130 for a full-sus bike.

Please send me a message with your size to confirm your bike BEFORE Booking. Thanks

I have raced and won various races. My most notable win was the inaugural Langkawi Mountainbike Championship in 2010. I am also a member of TRAKS (Traks.org.my). I take part in maintaining Bukit Kiara and Kota Damansara trails and also had a hand in building new trails. Bukit Kiara is my backyard. I live here and know all the trails like the back of my hand. The location is perfect strategically. A stone's throw away from the city with excellent access roads, eateries and Hospital just 5 mins away. I have trained beginners and intermediates and guests always come out satisfied.

Where you'll be

Bukit Kiara is highly reverred by locals and foreign guests as one of the best mountain-biking trails in the world. It's unique singletrack and terrain makes it challenging. But there are also sections enjoyable for the non-advanced riders.
Alternatively, FRIM (Forest Research Institute Malaysia) trails is also nice. We will decide which trails upon having a better understanding of your needs and competency.

Farizul is an expert in this area and i found this experience very helpful to start mountain biking. He guided me really well and even though we were alone, i felt perfectly safe and happy knowing he was there to help me. Truly worth the money and would recommend to everyone. He even took me in and let me do the experience even though i wasn't of the age required, so that was amazing as well, as he can be very accommodating towards our needs. Overall great experience and he also invited for mountain biking every Saturday, which is perfect, because this sport should never be done alone.

Had a great spin with Farizul in bukit Kiara today the technical uphills were a wake-up call. He knows the area well and is a good judge of ability. He's in excellent shape and doesn't mind taking it easy or pushing it if your an xc racer. He will cater to all abilities. Farizul supplies all needed items including a water bottle for the bike. If your from a cold climate like me I'd advise bringing 2L of water. Personally should have brought some more myself as I used 2l in 2 hours. Bukit Kiara is a technical place where the trees are narrow and roots live like Kings. Great fun for intermediate riders. Note. Bike has a dropper post.

Farizul (aka Fabio) was a gentle accommodating host who catered to my beginner riding level with grace and understanding. We rode at FRIM, under the canopy of tropical forest, on a mixture of terrain (not all was uphill and downhill) and visited a small waterfall and lake. Lunch was delicious local dishes and a refreshing lime drink which really quenched the thirst. I was a solo female traveller and felt completely at ease under Farizul’s guidance. He also gave me links of other places to visit like free guided tour if mosque. Next time I will wear sporty sunglasses secured around my head so they don’t slide down my sweaty face and will bring a small backpack and towel
