What you'll do

During this 360-degree street food experience, I’ll introduce the delectable Hungarian cuisine to you as well as connect you with other enthusiasts who share your love for food & flavors.

We’ll kick off this culinary adventure with a tasty selection of small bites at the Great Market hall and by strolling from vendor to vendor we'll uncover the meaning of "pogacs", "kolbász" and "csalamádé" by tasting them.

From the classic traditional goulash (gulyas) soup in a Hungarian family-owned restaurant to the unique Chimney Cake (Kürtőskalács) made from sweet, yeast dough, you’ll be tasting specialties found here in Budapest.

As we slowly comb through the nooks and crannies of Budapest, I’ll get the conversation rolling by sharing with you the history of the city along with interesting food tales only we locals know.

For a real local experience, we’ll walk through a hip and colorful community, where you can find undoubtedly the best known ruin pub among us locals. We’ll finish up at this convenient venue with delicious memories and photos as we say goodbye and where I ensure you know your way home and help you with things to do while you’re in Budapest.

Where you'll be

Our flavor walk begins with visiting the eateries of the Great Market Hall (5 min from center), then we'll mosey on to a Hungarian family restaurant, head to the Karavan street food market, a courtyard filled with food stalls. We'll inhale the hip vibes at a colorful community garden and enjoy the local buzz at the "pioneer" of Hungarian ruin pubs.

We were met by Nick who was a friendly and thoughtful tour guide. He had a clear passion for Hungarian Food and was able to tell us the background and interesting details on the history of Hungarian cuisine. He took us to places we wouldn't have necessarily known about or looked at, which provided local cuisine cooked in the traditional way. A great trip! We were definitely full by the end and great value for money.
