What you'll do

A day tour in the Alentejo region that mixes culture & leisure? Yes, please!

You'll start the day by taking the bridge across the river towards the amazing Alentejo region. It will be a great opportunity to talk a bit more about the day and make you familiar with what we're going to see and do.

You’ll spend the morning in Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage city where you’ll delve into its well-preserved city center. We'll visit some of its best heritage, such as the Roman temple and the curious Bone chapel (decorated with real bones)!

But of course, a visit to the Alentejo region couldn’t be complete without a gastronomic experience. For that reason, we’ll pay a visit to the house of Mr. Joaquim Arnaud for a wine tasting experience and a typical "Alentejo" lunch. Mr. Arnaud is a seasoned farmer known for his high-quality products such as wine and of course, the famous Iberian black pig! Lunch will be memorable, that’s a promise!

CAN AN IVY LEAGUE MBA BECOME A TOUR GUIDE?

Yes I can! why in the hell did I, an Economics graduate with an MBA degree from Cornell University, decide to start from scratch?! Why did I decide to join AirBnB Experiences? Easy. I love my country. I really do. Every bit of it. Its rich history, its heavenly food, its passionate music, and its people. Its good things and its bad things… So I eventually asked myself what could I do with my passion for Portugal? I decided to create Rootfarers. We organize tours from Lisbon that help curious tourists get away from mass tourism, thus showing them the authentic side of Portugal. In order to achieve that, we provide itineraries that are heavily focused on Portuguese roots and traditions.
