What you'll do

After a short welcome and orientation we will begin with a tour of the kitchen and farm. In the fields we may harvest (season permitting) some ingredients before cooking a plant based (vegan) whole food lunch, or dinner, that we then serve family style and enjoy together (hopefully in the fields - again season and weather permitting). Our dishes will use many products and produce from Vermont to create a simple yet delicious meal that will surely satisfy all dietary needs and tastes. We will make at least three different dishes. This is a wonderful way to learn more about plant based cooking, experience a beautiful farm in Vermont, or just enjoy a meal you helped make others. You are welcome to come early or stay late to enjoy the hiking trails or explore the farm more.

Tessa

I am a seventh generation Vermonter who was born and raised in South Burlington. After learning to cook at a healing arts school in northern California I spent 15 years cooking for and running different kitchens for retreat centers, schools and camps before starting my own company in 2016 - Blossom Whole Food Kitchen and Catering. My kitchen located in a renovated barn on an organic vegetable and flower farm in Bristol Vermont called New Leaf Organics. In addition to catering I also cook and host many events onsite including cooking classes, family-style meals, team building activities and community dinners. Specializing in vegetarian minimally processed ingredients I enjoy preparing colorful dishes inspired by global cuisine using mainly plant based whole foods and local organic ingredients as often as possible.
