What you'll do

Have a curious mind? Come join us in our historic experience and discover what Porto has to offer besides the standard touristic sites!

Let's travel through time, nine centuries back to when Porto was a medieval town.

In this three hour tour, we will show you the oldest part of the city and share its stories with you and secrets that shaped the city to its present state.

We will bring you to old monasteries, churches, and other unique landmarks of Porto.

You will understand why the city is called the "Invicta", and how we helped Portugal during its Age of Seafaring Discoveries, the Napoleonic Invasions. What led to the siege of the city during Portugal’s civil war of the 19th Century.

Half way through our route we will stop in one of our favorite "cafés" to take a break and enjoy a nice "expresso", Portuguese style.

In the end we’d be more than happy to share our best tips about Porto: where to eat, drink or shop!

We will be very happy to welcome you into this historic Porto experience!

Due to safety and health precautions we ask everyone to bring a mask to the walk for when it is needed.
Other things to note:
Bring comfortable shoes, water and a camera to capture the fantastic moments, I will do my best to provide

Hello we are Carlota and João! Two (married) friends very passionate about Porto and all the good things this city has to offer! We share a passion for Porto´s History in all it's different times, circumstances and layers. Of course, each has its own preferences when it comes to talk about things…culture, biology, art, architecture, food, travel, History, music… you name it! That´s why we get along and complement each other so well!

Carlota was the mastermind of this tour. After graduating in History she decided to dedicate her life to share with guests from abroad the unknown story of the city. With the help of João she started doing it with success!

We would love to share all the hidden places, fantastic stories and cool secrets of this old medieval city with you!

This is a fantatistic, value-for-money tour of old Porto. Carlota was very knowledgable and also very flexible (as I was the only one on the day). I had a particular interest in the history and religious backround to Porto. I left the tour well satisfied. Thank you very much Carlota for being a great host.

Highly recommend! Carlota is so knowledgeable, so friendly, and is a super storyteller. I loved all the little alleyways she took me down, learning about her life and the culture of Porto. I was the only one that booked for that day, and despite the rain, Carlota still met up with me which I really appreciated. I loved learning from her and found myself going down the same streets she took me on even after the tour ended because I wanted to soak it all in. Definitely recommend you do this!

Everything was perfect and the host explained and answered a lot of our questions about Portugal in general. Perfect way to know the best about Porto and Portugal culture.

Interesting tour dealing with the foundation of the city. Host is knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk to, either in English or Spanish. Lots of walks through the oldest parts of the city, mostly downhill over stone roads. Additionally, hosts recommendations for food and other places to visit were excellent!
