What you'll do

With over a 300 year history, from the Revolutionary War to its revitalization in the past 50 years, come experience Philadelphia with me.

Every building has a story to tell, from the materials, technology, and styles favored when it was constructed, to the people who designed, built, lived and worked there. Events of historic proportion take place in and around buildings as well. Come with me on this journey to discover all the secrets each building on our tour is waiting to tell us.

We will be walking through Old City and Society Hill, visiting the oldest continuously occupied residential street in the United States, and seeing the same buildings the Founding Fathers worked and worshiped in. Whether your interest is architecture, American History, visiting the places where Ben Franklin and George Washington lived and worked, or humming a tune from the Hamilton play as we experience Philadelphia as the Capitol of the United States, this tour is for you!

I am a Registered Architect who has lived in the City of Philadelphia since 1978. After taking a walking tour with famed City Planner Ed Bacon, I was inspired to give similar experiences of the city.
Currently residing in the Old City area of Philadelphia, I would love to introduce you to the only World Heritage City in the U.S.

Very detailed explanation of the history behind the buildings we walked pass during the tour. As a former architect, Reid also has knowledge in architecture of the historic buildings which is really interesting. He also adjusted the tour for me personally to make sure I'm not overwhelmed by the content. He is truly an expert! Highly recommend!

Reid's tour is an impeccable journey along the streets of Philly, new and old, and all the buildings that line them. I learned about the history of Philadelphia through the masterful storytelling on subjects such as Ben Franklin, Jeremiah Elfreth, Pierce Butler, Robert Morris, Andrew Hamilton and Alexander Hamilton. When you walk away inspired to learn more, you know you have been in capable hands.

Reid was fantastic! I would take another tour hosted by him again and will highly recommend him to others. I had an eight month old baby, who did incredibly well, and Reid was very welcoming and accommodating. It was amazing.
