What you'll do
Nature in Japan is amazingly rich. Our hike will be at the mountain range in Itoshima, Fukuoka.
The 3 to 4 hour course will take us to a small mountain village, pass rice fields, follow a mountain stream, go through a forest and at the top it will treat us to great views of Itoshima and Fukuoka City.
On the return trip we will make a stop at a very pretty mountain temple.
Other things to note
By signing-up for this event, you agree to have your own accident insurance.
Please wear good hiking/walking shoes & clothing. Bring drinking water.
At the end, a bowl of Fukuoka Ramen is my treat.

It was magical! I was the only one on the tour when I went (covid) but as a lone female I felt extremely safe and I loved every moment. Yap is a kind, funny, warm and generous soul. He tailors the experience towards you. We climbed Mt. Rai and visited a beautiful shrine and temple on the way down. Many snacks and stories along the way. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to get out of the city to see some breathtaking views and be nourished by the mountains, waterfalls, the crisp air, gardens, temples, etc., etc.!

Yap is knowledgeable and passionate about the great outdoors! He was an excellent guide on this very scenic hike that we would not have found on our own. He gave us a unique view on life in Fukuoka and we would certainly take this experience again!

Yap was not only willing to share all of his local expertise about the Fukuoka area during our hike and excursion, but he introduced us to delicious local snacks (onigiri roll of natto, fermented soybeans) when we were hungry, and when the weather got unexpectedly cold he even gave me a jacket to keep warm!! He's not just a world-traveler with amazing experiences to share -- he's a knowledgable and truly kind person. I couldn't imagine a better host!

This experience exceeded my expectations. Yap was very accommodating and our group did not feel hurried at all. There were a number of stops to just sit and enjoy the view. I felt refreshed more than tired afterwards. We could not have had a better ending to our vacation in Fukuoka!
