What you'll do
Our meeting point will be at the Central Train Station in Sofia at 11a.m.
We are going to catch the train and we should arrived at our destination Lakatnik at 12:30p.m.
Lakatnik is a small village, built on the gorge of the longest river in Bulgaria-Iskar.
From the train station we are going to hike up on the hills until we reached the top of the rocks. On our way we will have few stops to make panoramic photos. Also we will see the cave Temnata dupka-The Dark hole.
We will keep going until an amazing view will be discovered in front of us. After a good relax we are going back, but this time we will take another path where we are going to see Ruzhishka cave and the Arch.
Before we catch up the train again, we will have warm and delicious meal in a local restaurant in Lakatnik.
Our returning train is at 4:43 p.m. The arriving time in Sofia is at 6 p.m.
Other things to note
The train ticket for both ways is included in the price.
The restaurant is not included.

My name is Iveta and I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. I love to travel and I used to live in Italy, Australia, Cyprus and United Kingdom. I'm passionate about exploring and my degree in Hospitality and Batchelor in Economics of Tourism bring the value of an extraordinary experience. If you are ready to see something incredible, put on your comfortable shoes and join me in a magnificant day outside of the crowd. Light hike and a lot of nature is the best combination for a day trip.
Where you'll be
Lakatnik is a small village on 50km from the capital of Bulgaria Sofia and on 211 from Plovdiv.
Lakatnik rocks are with different high levels. The highest point is around 250 metres. Thе limestone rock is the best for climbing. Also there is a little red house-'Orlovo gnezdo'-The eagles' Nest. You can reach that little hut only by climbing.
There are also a lot of caves. The biggest is Temnata dupka, but it is not open for tourist-visitin.

What a great day!
Iveta is sweet, charming, smiling, and talkative, and it seems like connecting with people just comes natural to her. The location itself is beautiful, and the hike was perfect for someone at my level of experience and endurance. And the restaurant visit at the end made it go from great to perfect!
I'd recommend this trip to anyone who likes either hiking, meeting new people, or seeing the more rural sides of Bulgaria.
Thanks again for a good time!
