What you'll do

I will lead guests along the natural stream, following more of a natural route than a trail itself; traversing hidden stream reaches, to waterfalls and natural swimming.

Waterfall Warrior is supposed to be an empowering experience & rewarding accomplishment. People anywhere from 6 - 70 years can most likely find uggles of joy here.

Visitors are welcomed to the grounds of my family's hobby farm by our horses, peacocks & myself. I like to go in with a short orchard tour before heading into the stream. Letting guests pick seasonal fresh fruits and flowers as souvenirs.

Setting out for Haakoa Stream following a nature trail that is suitable for most active hikers. The first stop on our experience will be a large swimming hole at the base of the tallest waterfall; tune into Nature & discover whats hidden under the falls. Such a powerful place.

From here we will traverse up & around the bend to the Grotto Pool. A natural swimming hole with stone faces featuring a plunging curtain waterfall that you can stand behind. Instagram worthy.

Loop - If you are up for more (only the most adventurous will be) we can push on up the "karma trail" through the loi ancient Hawaiian ruin. Trek to one last waterfall pool & climb a rope ladder to the jungly trail exit & easy end down a county track.

I do my best to share meaningful tidbits of naturalist knowledge.

Aloha, I’m Ashley!
A local expert born and raised on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii. I consider myself to be a responsible, fun, local expert.

My Airbnb career started in 2017, hosting two 5 star off-grid cabins Aloha Nature Lovers and Horse & Waterfalls. To this day unique off-the-beaten-track tourism continues to be my passion.

I enjoy meeting interesting people, who are self-proclaimed nature lovers and appreciate authentic local style.

As a laissez faire tour guide my priority is finding the point of peaceful joyfulness and invigorating excitement for travelers looking to remain inspired by neat places and fun moments.

It makes me happy to show visitors the real side of Hawaii that is completely unlike quelled mainstream tours.

Where you'll be

Dry Season - Travel with friends and family to the Hamakua Coast on the Big Islands of Hawaii. Our location is North of Hilo by 35 min, 1 1/2 hours from Kona, and in the more scenic village next to the notable town of Laupahoehoe. Perched in between two streams at the heart of a homestead community. You have to follow my handwritten directions and walk the last 1/4 mile or have an AWD / 4WD vehicle. It’s a real-life Robinson family passion proje

Swimming in the waterfall was amazing. And Ashley was able to pick us up where the paved road ended, so that made getting there much easier.

This tour was so great! Ashley is an awesome host with lots of information and history about the area surrounding the stream. It was a real adventure climb going up and the swimming holes were gorgeous! Not a whole lot of waterfall flow in the summertime but that didn’t take away from the beauty! I’m traveling solo and Ashley gave me some great recommendations for food and activities on the island as well- taco Tuesdays at the temple was delicious 😋 definitely recommend this experience!!

Amazing experience for our whole family. Ashley tailored our experience just for us. She asked us questions about what we would like to do and changed plans on the fly. The kids and adults all loved it. It is an amazing value for the time and experience especially on the big island.
