What you'll do

We will explore one of Costa Rica’s best kept waterfall secrets in the Southern Pacific of Costa Rica. This tour begins with a very scenic drive along the coastline palm-trees and the tropical jungle heading to our destination (1h 20m drive). Upon arrival, our short hike down to the river begins! As soon as we will enter the canyon you will come to face with our main attraction of the day – a majestic 150-foot waterfall. Leaving our vantage point we will guide you to the many different features Eco Chontales has to offer - multiple calm swimming holes, areas perfect for taking photos and even beautiful spots to put a towel down next to the river stream!
After we have explored all the features of the waterfall, we will top off the experience by turning into Avatars. We will create a mini on the spot-spa and provide you with mineral rich naturally colored blue clay which you may choose to apply on your body. This “rainforest clay” we provide is sourced near fresh spring water and is renowned for its healthy skin care properties.
To finalize our day, we will get to enjoy a delicious, freshly cooked Costa Rican meal at the river restaurant.
There is truly no other tour quite comparable to our Blue Clay Avatar Waterfall experience.

Hey there! We are Matt and Brian, and we used to work together in finance. We both fell in love with Costa Rica on separate trips to the country, but somehow both ended up living here and starting one of the first paddle-boarding businesses in all of Costa Rica! On our time off, we would explore the country as much as we could, with one of our favorite activities being waterfall hopping. As we expanded our knowledge of the little-known waterfall gems of Costa Rica, many of the tourists would ask us to show them personally. This naturally progressed to hosting some of the most unique waterfall tours in the country. We love to show tourists the “off the beaten path” side of Costa Rica, and look forward to sharing the beauty of this country with you!

This tour will take us to one of the yet most undiscovered waterfalls of the South Pacific. We will enjoy our lunch right at the location at a typical Costa Rican river restaurant.
