What you'll do

Every landmark and hidden corner holds a special significance and I’m looking forward to sharing these stories with you. As a local who has spent most of my life living in Amsterdam, this city is my home.

As your guide, let me show you the real side of Amsterdam, starting from the historical Dam Square, all the way to Nieuwmarkt, which can be found just east of the Red Light District. I’ll bring you to an area where cool local hotspots can be spotted, and don’t worry about getting lost in Jordaan where we’ll admire the colorful canal houses. From bright buildings, history everywhere, and outdoorsy vibes to the Rembrandtplein, you’ll not only see the famous sites around Amsterdam but also discover under-the-radar gems known only to us locals.

Whether you are visiting for the first time or looking to know the city better, you can be sure that we’ll venture off the beaten path, take our time to trace Amsterdam’s origin, and immerse in the local culture. Along the way, I’ll share with you interesting insights into my city, and you’ll walk away feeling as if you’ve lived here all your life too.

We’ll end this experience with amazing memories and photos, as I lead you to one of my favorite secret places in the city.

Hi, I am Sebastian! I've been living in the Netherlands for about 17 years, first in Rotterdam and later, with a detour via Hamburg, in Amsterdam. I love being active in my city, seeing all its developments, and discovering new corners every day.

I'm part of a team of passionate local guides hosting unforgettable "Connect Experiences". My passion for connecting travelers with the heartbeat of Amsterdam and with each other has made me the experienced local guide I'm now.

Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or in a group, this is a great opportunity to meet new people from different parts of the world. Let’s connect over our love for local history, culture & food. I’ll make sure you experience Amsterdam and its communities through the eyes of a local, my eyes.

Where you'll be

We'll visit Dam Square with all its monuments, Torensluis, one of the most overlooked monuments in Amsterdam and arguably one of the oldest. We'll stroll through the Jordaan district, and for an authentic local experience, we'll go to Begijnhof to see the church of England and the Begijnhof Chapel. Our route will be topped with Amsterdam's Floating Flower Market, the Jewish Quarter, and Nieuwmarkt, the lively nightspot & market square.

Great tour with Sebastian! He's truly an attentive, and skilled expert who provided an in depth knowledge of the city. Also, one of the kindest people I met while vacationing in Amsterdam.

Sebastian is amazing. I've done other experiences in Amsterdam but 2 with him and well worth it. What I saw and learned and the food I tried all was amazing. Casual but organized perfectly. He's definatelyan expert and very personable. When I return I will be bringing people on his tours and doing them again myself.

I highly recommend taking this tour, our guide Giovanna was wonderful and delivered a beyond and above experience. She took my friend and I through the nooks and crannies of Amsterdam while pointing out big and small details that we may have missed otherwise. She had a deep understanding and knowledge of the history and town, and she was interesting and engaging. Our stay in Holland would not have been the same without this tour and I’m glad we took it.

This tour was more than we expected. It was a very rainy and windy day but our guide found a way to make it the best day of the trip! I now see Amsterdam in a new light and I have learned so much. Make sure you have euro on you as well, even though we didn’t our guide took care of it. He was very personable, knowledgeable, down to earth, and caring! I would definitely recommend this tour!

We had a very good experience with our host in Amsterdam. He is likeable and friendly, but very serious and knowledgeable, when it comes to talking about the city and its history. We really enjoyed three hours walk along the canals. Wherever we stopped, our host had some interesting information about Amsterdam and it's history, with a special accent on the history of the city during the German occupation in WW2, and the fate of the Jewish families that lived there at that time. Whenever we had a question, he never missed a shot. Highly recommended!

Ace had a very unique combination of both being very knowledgeable but also very passionate about Amsterdam and it’s history and dutch culture. Especially from the time of second world war. I did not exactly know what to expect beforehand but Ace exceeded all my expectation and was able to answer all of my questions. I also liked the other people that joined us on the group.
