Rob is a language instructor, AirBnb host, amateur historian and competent cook -- who cut his teeth in family kitchens from Lithuania to Hong Kong; and classrooms from Brisbane to Ottawa.

Candice works in the finance industry by day, by night she is a fun-loving, tap dancer and songstress who does a mean barbecue when she isn't looking for new swimming spots and ahem "practicing" her mad yodelling skills.

We are the children of immigrants whom love hosting people, sharing from our common experiences—and, of course, making friends from all over the world. We just try to give back what hospitality, knowledge and kindness we have been afforded by others while travelling.

So, please join Rob for an early, epic sunrise and walk through time where you will meet Niagara's pioneer families and their journey through hijinks, war and love.

Where you'll be

Starting at the cusp of the waterfall at dawn we continue onward to the Victorian Era -- along the way discovering how local loyalists, first nations, enterprising Americans, First Nations & some rabble-rousers built the Falls we love today.

Important: Parking beside major tourists spots world-wide is expensive; and the same is true here. We HIGHLY recommend leaving your horseless carriage behind and walking to our starting point.

Rob went above and beyond to ensure that we had a special Niagara experience. Weather and other events required us to keep in contact and remain flexible. In the end, Rob hosted us for a special brunch at his home instead of the walk, complete with fresh garden tomatoes and laptop presentation. We felt very welcomed. Rob really cares about the topic and has a wealth of knowledge about the area and related topics. We laughed a lot and and got a new perspective on Niagara. If you enjoy the drama of smuggling, families at war with each other, and the building of tourist empires then this is the experience for you.

Rob’s tour was awesome. It was a very informative and illuminating experience providing an extensive background on the history of Niagara Falls and surrounding areas. We learned a lot about an area that we would not have otherwise seen as tourists.

This was a unique tour of a less known Niagara Falls with a insight into the founding families and what made the town unique and why it became what it is.
