What you'll do

Our experience together will start with a mindful walk; discovering the forest and its different ecosystems, the multitude of species (some being endemic and/or endangered), the wealth of its restored biodiversity, the interesting designs and uses of some of the plants, the nursery, the organic gardens and the river.

We will then stop at the yoga platform and start focusing outward AND inward; while using meditation, breath work, mindfulness activities, guided relaxation and visualization.

We will end by another meditative walk, and then realize how much we see things more vividly, and how much better we feel; calmer, healthier, stronger, at peace!

Finally we will head back and share our experiences around drinks and snacks.
Science has proven that the benefits of spending time in Nature (especially in forests) last for about a month and spending time in Nature is now officially prescribed by doctors in some countries!
So hopefully the effects will last :)

Belipola offers rooms to stay and yummy organic local vegetarian food if you'd like to extend the pleasure!

The experience can be done in French
Other things to note
There are no specific risks on the trails or in the river, though it is a rich forest and you could exceptionally cross the path of some native animals (non toxic for most of them ;)
However, beware that in these parts of the country, leeches flourish during the rainy season (harmless creatures)

Meet your host, Rachel

Host on Airbnb since 2016
  • Identity verified
I am a French citizen, in Sri Lanka for the past 14 years and now living part time in the forest.
I am certified in Kundalini Yoga, Sound Healing, Shinrin Yoku (Japanese term for "Forest Bathing"), and getting certified in Analog Forestry this year.

The forest I am taking you in is an Analog Forest; restored from a degraded land. It is a forest where men and nature work hand in hand, using the Primary Native forest as a guide, in order to restore our ecosystems, their biodiversity, our global commons (air, water, soil) and our health.

I am passionate about Nature and about finding ways to connect deeper in It; especially by using mindfulness, yoga/meditation tools, and by connecting the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects.

I am awe-spired to share with others these magical moments that can occur in a forest - when we open to it
