What you'll do

I have always thought that cooking was a perfect cure for sadness or boredom. Cooking gives you such a good mood and lives you with new friends.
On Sunday morning we kids used to prepare gnocchi with my Piedmontese grandma, from Alba. You make gnocchi with your hands, that's why we loved it so much.
Come and visit my semi-professional kitchen. It's located in a sunny winter garden, overlooking a beautiful terrace in the heart of San Salvario, the hip neighboroud close to the city centre.
At your arrival you will be welcomed with some fresh flavoured water and you will find a workstation provided with everything you will need to have gnocchi made by yourself, from the apron to specific kitchen tools. I will give you a booklet with the recipes we are going to follow with some easy tips helping you to modify them, according to taste, seasonality, intolerances or food choices.
Then we will put ourselves at work, and I will be following you in your preparation of different kind of gnocchi, advising with tips and suggestions.
Finally I will show you how to chose a perfect sauce for each type of gnocchi. We will cook them and joyfully sit at the dining table eating the result of our work, chatting and getting to know each other better.
Since it is a cheerful experience and everybody should feel comfortable, please tell me if there are any intolerances or ethical food choices.

Meet your host, Cristina

I've been working in restaurants, as a bartender and in a winery. After graduation I've been traveling a lot for work, and I've always been cooking. I can't help myself. Cooking is my way to say -I love you-.
I keep myself updated with specialization courses.
I've taught the way to a pefect risotto to some lost causes, and they did it! I've done tagliatelle with lots of kids that are now able to do a good job by themselves.
I learned baccalà mantecato with my Venetian grandma, risotto from dad, mole with my friends in Mexico and sous-vide with a great chef. And many other recipes in many other places.
I like to have my house filled up with nice people, and share what others shared with me.
We can speak Italian, English or Spanish.

Where you'll be

We'll meet in a very beautiful semi-professional kitchen, spacious and flooded with sunlight. It is located in the house's winter garden. When in season we will have lunch in the cosy terrace surrounding the kitchen. We will work at gnocchi preparation on the big wood table and then cook them with sauces on the kitchen island. The worktop is stainless steel made, and the kitchen is equipped with everything we'll need.
