Hello, thank you for looking.
My name is Naomi.
I'm a massage therapist for 18 years and cooking instructor.
Sometime, I'm a Japanese tea instructor in the Kyoto samurai house.
I'm interested in leading wellness lifestyle both physically and mentally, so through my experience, I hope to enjoy cooking, eating and learning together.
Massage therapist, cooking instructor, Japanese tea instructor, these are different works.
But for me, these are almost same.
When I give massage, when I cook, when I do Japanese tea ceremony, I concentrate moment to moment.
During these processes, I don't regret the past, I don't worry about the future.
I lenjoy living in the here and now with gests.
It is very good for our health both physically and mentally.
So, our cooking class is not only enjoyable, but also useful the practice of mindfulness.

With strong Buddhist traditions and local specialties like tofu and Kyo-yasai (Kyoto vegetables), Kyoto has some excellent vegetarian restaurants. One step beyond this is the vegan experience with the incredibly kind and gracious Naomi san at Samurai House. The house itself is over 300 years old with it’s charming entry and dining area garden views which was only the beginning of our wonderful experience. Naomi san’s passion for transforming simple pure foods into a feast was apparent as we worked together under her gentle guidance to create an amazing meal. Each individual dish contained such clarity in taste and perfection in its most simplistic form. We learned much more than we had hoped for, and my husband and I left smiling and filled with joy and appreciation for what Naomi san brought to the experience of truly being mindful in preparing and enjoying a lovely vegan meal. We highly recommend this experience with Naomi san. We have experienced countless gems during our nearly 3 years in Japan, and this was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Kyoto. Arigatōgozaimashita, Naomi san!
