Growing up, I have always had a love and affinity for history—as a result, I became a tour guide. However, I also believe in struggling for a more equitable society. Before I became a tour guide, at the age of 24, I was involved with the foundation of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Being genuinely concerned that the movement was misunderstood, I took it upon myself to create an experience that explains what Occupy was about, as well as explaining how the movement relates to and differs from prior collective uprisings—and how the movement relates to uprisings in the present context.

Where you'll be

We'll begin at Bowling Green—no. 1 Broadway—then go up to Wall Street. From Wall Street, the excursion will go to Zucotti Park and eventually will end in City Hall Park. It will take about two and half hours.

More tips

Bring a camera, some good walking shoes, and use the restroom before we begin (although there will be a restroom break midway through). The best days to book are Tuesday and Wednesday.
