What you'll do

Visit our 69-acre farm and learn about how we use regenerative practices to care for our animals and the land. The tour will take place on the 15-acres near our farmhouse and barn. We will give you a full guided walk-through of our farm which will take 30 minutes to an hour (depending on the season and any questions that you may have). We will visit the animals (walking out to their grazing areas - which changes weekly), explore the gardens (during the spring & summer seasons) and explain how we incorporate permaculture practices in our work. Ultimately, this is a short tour of our farm where we share our story, practices and some of the lessons that we have learned since starting our business.

Please keep in mind that we will not be touching the animals - our sheep are quite shy. We will, however, see most of the animals and depending on the day of the tour and time of day, we will do our very best to allow you to help us with an activity (like collecting eggs, feeding the sheep hay, etc) if this is something that interests you! We will begin at the farmhouse and circle around the property, showing you around while also sharing our story and information about our gardens & animals all the while. We ask for an open-minded and flexible attitude on the tour please! Every day is a new & different day and we can't make guarantees about how the animals will behave, weather, etc.
Other things to note
We live in a rainy place! It is cloudy, wet, dark & muddy here for most of the year. We wish that the sun could shine on most days for you, but unfortunately, this is not the reality here. Please do not be upset if the weather is not ideal! We will do our best to have a good tour regardless.

We are NATALIE and NIALL, business & life partners living and working on 69-acres in Beaver Valley on the Olympic Peninsula where we strive to regenerate the land by applying ecological practices to our small farm. This is our third season farming - we left our careers as engineers in Seattle for this life and have been guided by mentors, such as Cody Taylor at Crooked Shepherd Farm, while establishing our roots here. We have learned so much through our experiences thus far and would love to share our lessons, stories and evolving vision with you! We raise Romney sheep (lambing season is April-May), pigs, ducks, chickens & two funky turkeys. Our farm sells sourdough bread made from locally grown grains, flowers, vegetables and "wild"-range eggs & meat (on site when available and at the Port Townsend Farmers Market).

What an amazing experience! Niall was so accommodating and made sure we had a great time! Not only were we able to have a very interactive and immersive experience, but Niall was very knowledgeable and taught us way more than we expected to learn in an hour. You can truly tell that Niall and Natalie want to make organic and sustainable farm more accessible for all.
