Hello, my name is Will Olds, I am a life-long boating enthusiast. I served in the Navy and taught IB High School History for over 20 years. Upon retiring from teaching about 10 years ago I have spent countless hours on the water sharing my passion for boating, exploring, and experiencing local ecosystems. I love to meet new people and see families and groups bond over new shared experiences.

Where you'll be
Cabbage Key is a small island in Pine Island Sound, just south of Charlotte Harbor and east of Cayo Costa. It is the site of the Old House, a restaurant housed in the historic home built by the American mystery author, Mary Roberts Rhinehart. On the island are nature trails, a water tower, a display of gopher tortoises, gift shop and boat harbor.

The lunch tour to Cabbage Key Captain Will was truly memorable. He’s very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw many types of birds and Will told us interesting things about them (wish I could remember the name of the bat bird). The greatest part was the dolphins. Watching them play in the wake was thrilling. We didn’t want it to end! Definitely recommend taking a boat ride with Captain Will!
When I go back to Cabbage Key, I plan on going around the trails and climbing the water tower instead of getting lunch. Lunch was delicious, but very expensive, and took the entire time we were on the island. We didn’t get to do any exploring

We had a grand adventure with Will to Cabbage Key. We encountered dolphins along the way and stopped to view the rookery and saw Roseate Spoonbills and Frigatebirds (among others) carrying nesting material and feeding.
Once at Cabbage Key we made our way to the bar (bypassing the patio and more formal seating areas). We were able to receive our food and liquid refreshments more quickly this way and get on to exploring the island. The tower, the trails and the gift shop were all enjoyed before returning to the boat.
We would definitely recommend this experience for future travelers.
