What you'll do

For the morning tour, we will meet at Pullman hotel in District 1 and go by taxi to Cholon, the Chinatown of Saigon and a place full of fascinating places and buildings. We will start by exploring Binh Tay market and the surrounding streets, after which we will visit several of the old temples that this area is known for. These temples provide for some amazing photographic opportunities. We will also visit several hidden Chinese alleyways that still exist in this part of Saigon.
We will then head back to District 1 where I will show you some of my favourite local hems, or alleys that always teem with life and provide for interesting photography.

For the afternoon tour, we would again start at Pullman hotel and head to Cholon to explore temples of the district and photograph them in the afternoon light. We will then head to Nguyen Hue walking street for a stroll and a visit to one of the most fascinating buildings of Ho Chi Minh. After that, we will walk along the river front and visit more alleyways before walking across the Ben Nghe river for a quick visit to District 4 and one of the remaining old residential apartment buildings of Ho Chi Minh. On the way back, we will take our time photographing light tracks of oncoming traffic from the height of the bridge.
Other things to note
Ho Chi Minh may be hot year-round, so please wear comfortable clothing and apply plenty of sunblock before the tour. Also, I suggest walking shoes rather than sandals or flip-flops due to amount of walking we will do.

I am a street photographer who currently lives in Ho Chi Minh City. I have held exhibits, participated in workshops as an instructor and taught photography worldwide to people of all ages. I explore HCMC with my camera on a daily basis, and know a great deal about its interesting and non-touristy spots. I would like to show my guests the Saigon that I know: the hidden alleyways, atmospheric temples, busy local markets, the unexpected views and interesting buildings. I want to share my expertise in photographing Ho Chi Minh City with you, as it can be a bit overwhelming for newcomers. And if you are not yet confident in your photography skills, don't worry - I will also share my tips and tricks about street photography as well as the technical aspects you will need to take those amazing photos on your trip.

I was grateful to be able to fit this photo tour during my holiday in Ho Chi Minh. It was easy to organise with Eugene and 4 hours just flew by. Eugene made me feel very welcome. He clearly knows a lot about photography. I have been doing photography as a hobby for a number of years but not too much street photography. I learnt some new techniques with Eugene and he was able to adapt the tour to my ability. Eugene was also pretty knowledgable about the city and its history. Thank you so much Eugene for a wonderful tour and helping me get some great shots. (Insta is malathysphotos)
