Experience hosted by 원석

6.5 hours
Includes food, equipment
Up to 10 people
Hosted in English, Korean

What you'll do

We meet at Gwanghwamoon station exit number two at 9 o'clock(Please be on time)
We'll take public transportation from there, so please bring your card topped up.

Let's get started!

1)Go Hiking! (Bukhansan National Park)
-It will take 4 to 5hours(depending on your level of fitness cause it's got a long ridge after getting to the top.)

We will
- walk along the ridge, and we'll have a small lunch like Gimbap

- hit the four different peaks so you can say "I conquered this mountain!"
(FYI, there are more than 36 peaks. That's one of the reasons you need an experienced guide so you don't get lost.)

- get to the Buddhist temples, Munsu-sa or Seungga-sa along the way.

-take some photos as a memento that will be sent to you soon after the activity has been done.

2) have dinner together in one of the most traditional street markets near Gyeongbokgung.

Optional 1) if you like to go to a Korean sauna after the trip, I'll take you one of the hall-in-the-wall saunas.

Hi, I'm Migo.

I've lived in Seoul specifically Seochon my whole life, and it just so happens that I majored sports at uni and have been doing Airbnb hosting, so why not? I thought it would be great if I enjoyed both at a time, meeting new people and mountain hiking.

Simply put, I know the drills. I know where we should or shouldn't go in hiking, especially with due regard to safety. Because I'm the type of person who believes is better to be on the safe side and relaxed rather than pushing too hard, you'll see a lot of conversation going on on the way and down the mountain(Yes, I'm talkative).

I love meeting new people. That's why I've been doing this for about 5years, having never-ever-met people in a group and getting closer, becoming friends.

If you find it interesting, come on in!

Where you'll be

Bukhansan National Park is where Korea's long history permeate in. It's got millions of peaks and historical monuments and most importantly, breathtaking scenery on the top. Among to-go places in the mountain are Munsusa temple, Jinheungwang Sunsubi(monument) where we will swing by, of course.

I had a great time! We hiked Bukhansan in January and saw amazing views of crystalized trees and frozen rivers! The temple was beautiful and 원석 personalized the trip and went along with whatever level I was comfortable with. He also took great pictures, shared stories, and did his best to make the trip fun. I highly recommend going to Bukhansan with 원석 as your guide!

This was such a special trip! The beautiful (perhaps the best) views of Seoul aside, Migo and Alice were both absolute pleasures to hike with. They made what was a 6 hour and quite difficult hike felt like a breeze. You can tell Migo has a passion for hiking and a wealthy knowledge of the mountains, I felt very safe in his hands, perhaps also a bit envious watching him run up the peak without breaking a sweat. And Alice, she was an absolute sweetheart with a kicker sense of humor. Our trip was filled with laughter and smiles and I would recommend this to everyone I know.

With big thanks, we had the most remarkable Bukhansan hiking tour with 원석 and Alice....everything was perfect and we felt, in every instance, that 원석 and Alice truly cared about us, both did their best to make this trip safe and memorable. Yay, we made it to the peak of Bukhansan, which we would not have attempted....but both 원석 and Alice have encouraged us and stood by for our safety. Definitely, this has become the most eye-opening, adventurous, and stunning journey for us - something we will remember, draw upon, and cherish for many years to come. Thank you again both!

This has exceeded my expectations! I got very scared at some points in trekking and the host was so patient and kind to guide me all the way. The overviews are spectacular. The folks I was with were incredible and we had good laughs and ate a nice meal together in the end.

This was an amazing hike that allowed me to see some of the most spectacular sites of Seoul. The mountain peaks were endless, majestic, and so reflective of traditional paintings that I have seen. The paths were a bit treacherous at times requiring me to go on all fours, hang on to a cable, and do a bit of creative rock climbing. But with the help and calming reassurance of my guide, Migo, he got me through each peak successfully. I enjoyed conversation and support from the others in the group also. I was most amazed to see such a large number of seniors doing this hike along with several kids as young as age 6. To make it as safe and successful as possible, I recommend good hiking shoes and gloves (for the cables & rock scaling). The picture possibilities at each peak are prime Instagram shots that are very bragworthy! I have to admit that I feel VERY proud of myself having the ability to say I hiked Bukhansan Mountain. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to do something special & memorable in Korea!
