What you'll do

Want to “squeeze all the juice” out of Sintra? Climb aboard one of our vintage Portuguese 4x4s and in just one day you’ll explore the mysterious Quinta da Regaleira, eat a traditional Portuguese lunch (with wine, of course), cruise off-road through Sintra’s lush forests, and emerge at the seaside cliffs of mainland Europe’s westernmost point, Cabo da Roca. This is our most popular journey for a good reason!
Our restored ex-military 4WDs look cool as hell, sure, but they’re also the best way to tackle the terrain west of Lisbon, passing from hilltop castles to the sheer coastline. We take you to secret lookouts and hidden beaches no other tourists can reach, blasting music the whole time. In summer, we bounce along off-road tracks with the roof off. In the cooler months we splash through puddles of mud as we swerve through the forests.
We are all about the journey, not just the destinations. This is why we love to go off-road, snap Polaroid pictures at the coast, play epic tunes all day long and give you the chance to taste Sintra’s traditional sweet “travesseiro” pastry and homemade “ginja” liqueur.
We want you to finish your day feeling like you really know the place. Join us for an unforgettable day of adventure, laughs and local legends.
Other things to note
Lunch and palace entry tickets are not included! Expect to pay just €15-20 for lunch, including wine! We can skip the queues though to buy cheap entrance tickets. Your driver generally hosts in English, but we also speak Portuguese, Spanish and French.

Olá, we’re FlaminGO Experiences! As little kids exploring their wild streaks we left no stone unturned in our magical hometown Sintra. Our mums complained when we came home dirty, tired and covered in cuts and bruises, but the mountains and coast were – and still are – our playground. Now we know almost every hidden secret and we’ve turned our passion for adventure, storytelling and vintage jeeps into our jobs. Between castles and the coastline we like to go beyond ordinary – driving off-road, eating local sweets, and snapping Polaroids at the beach. If you’re ready for one of the coolest days of your life (2000+ 5-star reviews back that up) – let’s GO! Where you'll be

We’ll explore wild coastline, secret forest tracks and century-old roads just 30 minutes from downtown Lisbon. This is the “Best of Sintra” so expect highlights of the UNESCO World Heritage town, including Quinta da Regaleira. After lunch we’ll cruise Sintra-Cascais Natural Park to our secret coastal viewpoint and the famous Cabo da Roca. As the sun sets, kick back at wild Guincho Beach. We finish in the fishing village of Cascais.

Francisco is the best guy to show you around Sintra. Except the fact that he is originally from there he is so passionate about his work, that is not only an enjoyful experience in general, but also a unique interaction with the local vibes and culture.

Truly exceptional in every aspect. Sintra was free from tourists due to Covid 19 in some ways making it an ideal time to take this experience. The 4x4 experience was a real adventure, and Mario was a laid back but professional and charismatic guide. He has literally a lifetime of knowledge and experience of Sintra and will teach you things that can not be found from the guide books. He knows all the best spots, restraunts and gives great advice for people who are staying for longer pointing out hikes and other great things to do in the area as he drove us around in his beautiful convertible 4x4. Really can't recommend this enough. Best day out in along time in these crazy times. Lots of opportunity for adventure whilst feeling safe and relaxed.

My trip to Portugal would definitely not hace been the same if not for this experience. There is simply no other way to immerse yourself in the culture and atmosphere of Sintra and Cascais than with these guys, on those jeeps. 10/10, would do it again!

Great day tour of Sintra - Francisco shared really fascinating insights and stories for all the beautiful sights we were taken to by Jeep - which was a fun way to go around with music blasting. Highly recommend!

I booked this trip but unfortunately the palaces were closed due to fire hazard. Instead, Francisco recommended the other activity they have in the afternoon. IT WAS JUST WOW! It had everything you might possibly want to do: Safari, hiking, a dip in the ocean, a picnic on the beach, the sunset with cool music... you name it. I would definitely recommend it. Thank you Mario and Francisco!!
