What you'll do

Your experience will be fun and informal yet informative and productive. You're definitely going to throw your own individual pot! We start by familiarising ourselves with the studio, the equipment and tools we will use during your experience. After this we'll prepare the clay for throwing by wedging it (like kneading dough) and weighing the right amount for the first shape you choose to throw. Then it's straight onto the wheel where we learn to centre the clay, open it and make the shape you desire. Once we have your pot formed we'll clean it up a bit and lift your creation from the wheel to dry. Then we'll do it again. Why not try another shape? You can throw as many pots as time allows. At the end of your experience you get to choose your favourite piece and when it's bone dry I'll fire it for you in the kiln to be collected or sent on to you.
