About your host

I am a career bartender and booze nerd who loves sharing knowledge and appreciation of craft beverages. I have the unique privilege of working in an exciting and booming city for cocktail bars, breweries, and distilleries. With over a decade in the food and beverage industry, I have had the opportunity to work in many varied settings. I have always been interested in learning as much as I can…

What we’ll do

We will start our experience at The Principal's Office where I bartend, and will taste 2 samples of Colorado whiskey and discuss the styles of American whiskey as well as what makes Colorado an interesting and exciting region for distilled spirits. We will then walk downstairs to the Axe and the Oak whiskey tasting room where you will taste either their bourbon or their rye whiskey as we exercise…

What else you should know

All buildings are wheelchair accessible. Be advised that we will be walking short distances to all of the locations so make sure that you are comfortable doing so. The weather in Colorado is unpredictable, a coat is advised. Parking is available in the back of the building that we are meeting.

What I’ll provide

Spirits
I will provide a minimum of nine tasting pours (between 0.75 oz and 1.0 oz depending on location). Most of the pours will be above 80 proof, please consider this when arranging transportation as this will be enough to be over the legal limit to drive if all of the pours are consumed.

We will be visiting a few locations in the Ivywild neighborhood. We will start at my place of work, the Principal's Office, an incredible cocktail bar and cafe. We will continue downstairs to Axe and the Oak's tasting room before walking across the street to the 291 Distillery where we will have the chance to explore the space where they make their product.
