What you'll do

We will get you checked in right when you arrive to allow for the most possible time on the water! Once you're all checked in, one of our guides (Jenna, Raven, Hannah, Chris, Matt, or Charlie) give some basic paddle instructions and information about the tour ahead. We'll get you loaded up into your tandem seated clear kayak and off we go! The paddle will last about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the speed of our group and any wildlife we may see along the way. We will be sure to take plenty of pictures and give some awesome unique facts about the area on our several picturesque stopping points!

The paddle will be leisurely as we navigate through the beautiful bayous and incredible waterfront homes until we reach Spring Bayou! There we will visit local historical monuments, Victorian-era homes, and take in the sights of the Florida manatees from our clear kayaks! We will spend time watching manatees come to the surface all around us while we catch glimpses of some native coastal birds! Be ready for lots of great local nature and wildlife along the way!

Other things to note
The weight limit is 425 pounds per boat and no more than 250 pounds per seat. Each of our kayaks are doubles (tandem).

Being born and raised in Florida, I've always had an appreciation for nature - specifically the ocean. Spending more than 20 years in the Tampa Bay area, I've swam and interacted with just about all marine life imaginable; it gave me an incredible appreciation for the beauty below the water. Being a Girl Scout, EMT, lifeguard, and now physician assistant this gives me the unique ability to combine all the things I love into one experience.

Which is why I decided to bring Get Up And Go Kayaking to Tampa Bay! Clear kayaking allows you to have an immersive perspective on the unique wildlife and nature we have here in Florida - I like to think of it as having the best window seat to the waters of Tampa Bay!

Where you'll be

We will paddle through Tarpon Springs to Springs Bayou which attracted the town's very first settlers in 19th century and later built their homes on this "Golden Crescent." Still very much a town landmark, the Bayou is the site of the annual Greek Orthodox Epiphany Celebration and cross-diving ceremony, and the winter home to numerous manatees

My guide/host’s name was actually Charlie. Super friendly and gave us good info about the area. Very informative of the wild life out there as well! Would definitely do this again.

We had Chase as our guide who was able to explain loads of interesting facts in an engaging manner. She took us to see a multitude of manatees up close and personal while sharing conservation and protection of the species. It was an amazing adventure that I will relive over and over

My wife and I had a great time and felt comfortable the entire trip even though neither one of us had experience with a kayak. Our host made us feel comfortable and safe and we loved the experience! We did get to view multiple manatee's coming to the surface for air and slowly rolling over the surface to dive. One pair was within a paddles length from us. We also observed several dolphins feeding and frolicking nearby along with various birds. It was great! Highly recommend giving this experience a try!

Amber was a great host, we were 20 minutes late due to traffic and she patiently waited for us to arrive. We saw lots of Manatee's as promised. Great experience.

Had a great time on our Kayaking adventure. Amy was helpful in making us comfortable and confident in our renewed kayaking skills. She shared her knowledge of the area wildlife and some of her personal education and experiences in her chosen field. We learned interesting facts about the history of the area and enjoyed viewing some of the historical homes. The weather was perfect.
