What you'll do

Note: This experience is not for a photo lesson.
Each of us is required to wear a facial mask all through the tour. I always bring a bottle of rubbing alcohol and sanitizing wipe with me.

A house cat who acts like a stray cat are asking a feeder for food ^._.^
A stray cat who acts like a house cat are relaxing at the front door of somebody's house ^._.^
They are waiting for you! Good for cat & animal lovers

Shitennojimae-yuhigaoka St. ~ Oe Shrine (photo stop for cats and wild birds & *goshuin stamp) ~ Aizen Slope ~ Kiyomizu Slope (photo stop) ~Tenjin Slope ~Yasui Shrine (cat fortune telling, English fortune telling & goshuin stamp) ~ Isshinji Temple (goshuin stamp)~ Mt. Chausu park (photo stop for cats and wild birds) ~ Shopping street (lunch) ~Matsunoki Great Shrine (photo stop for cats) ~ Imaike St. (photo stop for cats) ~*trolley train ~ Sumiyoshi Great Shrine (Hatsutatsu beckoning cat for you as a gift) (end of service)

The tour course is not on the tourist places. Especially around the area called "Deep Osaka". It has an atmosphere of old Osaka and people are the most friendly in Osaka.
*Trolley : Only 20 cities of Japan have trolleys. Osaka is one of them.
*Goshuin temple stamp : if you are a collector, don't forget your goshuin note!
*Sat. & Sun : We can stop by a hidden "Oden stand" near Matsunoki Great Shrine.
Other things to note
1 Cats are very cautious. A telescopic lens or a camera with a zooming function would work better from a distance.
2 No one can tell where cat are. Especially on a rainy day.
3 Do not chase cat or yell at cats
4 Do not feed cats.
5 In small rain we will go on the tour.
6 No including lunch & snacks

I am a big cat lover! Without fail I'm watching TV cat documentary program every week. And more I might be a cat whisperer??
Photograph is just a hobby for me and I used to be an pro illustrator. So my friends say "You have a good sense of taking a well composed photo because of a former pro illustrator. A composition and story on a photo are the theme of my photos. When you take a picture of cats (they are very cautious animals) , you should have an empty mind and then you will be able to take a best photo!
At the same time I am a licensed tour guide. I will take you to the place we live, slopes, shrines & temples, empty lots, and you will find our daily life with cats. Trolleys are one of wonderful transportation for tourists for "human watching". I will help you with not only this experience also a trip in Japan.

This tour was unlike any other I have been on in Osaka, or anywhere else for that matter. Setsuko has really created a unique experience of local cat finding, coupled with temple and shrine visits. The tour has a mixture of formality and informality that I really enjoyed, and Setusko has thought long and hard in regards to sharing some hard to find gems in Osaka. This was both mine and my partners favorite part of our Osaka trip. Many thanks to the host (and the cats). :)

Fantastic experience. The locations were carefully chosen, giving a hearty and authentic Osaka feeling away from the touristy places. It feels like having a relaxing walk with a friend in a lovely neighborhood, greeted by cats, pigeons, birds and a peaceful view of nature. Setsuko-san is an elegant, amicable and well-travelled lady, with whom all communication was smooth. Her love for animals and nature and her knowledge of history and local culture gives a very special perspective of Japan, a combination of urban liveliness and soulful zen. I felt I have learned a lot. And the izakaya she took me to was a pleasant surprise:) Food and drink was tasty and affordable (yes I had the best dashimaki--Japanese omelette--in my life) and the atmosphere gives an authentic feeling of local Osaka. Would definitely recommend this tour to cat lovers looking for a less touristy and more real experience, with every detail taken care of by a knowledgeable and elegant Japanese lady:)

I had such a wonderful time with Setsuko on our cat tour. She is an incredibly kind and easy to get along with person. She had interesting and detailed knowledge and told me about the area, history and culture. I truly enjoyed my time with her and feel I have made a good friend. Even though it is winter we did see some cats! But we also had a chance to see many other animals along the way which was brilliant! The tour itself was well planned and diverse. Every moment was fun and I felt like I got to see beautiful places in Osaka and even get to go into ‘deep Osaka’. An experience I wouldn’t have been able to have without Setsuko. I really really recommend this and I’m incredibly grateful for the time I spent with Setsuko ❤️
