What you'll do

Located in Benton, Pennsylvania.

Take a guided walk with our horses (no riding) through the fields of Barakah Heritage Farm to the ridgetop to enjoy the incredible winter mountain view. Your beautiful hiking partners are rare Arabians or retired show horses.

Your experience begins with a short orientation and bathroom break (outhouse). We will take a leisurely hike to the top of the ridge to enjoy the incredible views. The view changes with the elevation, with something new around each corner, including an interesting obstacle trail in the pine woods. At the top, we will relax for photos with the horses. We will then hike back down to the obstacle course riding area. Note: there is no riding in this experience.

We hope our guests leave with an appreciation for the beauty of this area and the horses, and a better understanding of the individual personalities of these conscious beings.

This is a fantastic experience for anyone a bit afraid of horses, or inexperienced, to gain confidence. Experienced riders will enjoy the lovely views and relaxed time with the horses.

Please dress for the weather, expect manure/bugs/wildlife, moderate hill climbing.

Most incredible experience with a sweet, smart horse! And wonderful, kind, knowledgeable guides! My husband and I hadn’t had much experience with horses (the last time was when we were children), and this was the perfect experience to get more comfortable with a horse. We learned so much from Carrie on our tour. It was a lovely view, too! And we got some great pictures. While there, we got to see the other horses and fainting goats as well! Our experience was truly touching and filled with facts, stories, and laughs! We loved every minute of this experience and would like to come back! We highly recommend this experience!

Was an amazing experience with rare horses. As someone that has no experience around horses she was very helpful and reassuring of how to handle the horses on the trail. Definitely would go again!
