What you'll do

Do you want to learn about the inner workings of a real Murano workshop? Are you tired of the endless tourist traps around Venice and Murano?
Look no more :D

With this experience I want to show what a real glass factory looks and feels like, understand the production process of glass from sand to bespoke piece, and watch real Murano glass masters while they blow glass.

What you will experience:
- The batch room, the place where it all starts. In here sand and other chemicals are mixed to perfection to create the mix that will melt into glass once charged into a 1400C furnace.
- The hotshop, where the magic happens. You will learn about the melting process of glass, from chemical mix to molten glass, how the furnaces work and an overview of all the tools we use to shape the glass! We will go over the cooling process for the glass and see the annealing furnaces
You will see our teams of glassblowers while they create bespoke pieces!
- The coldshop, where the glass really starts to shine! You will see all of the diamond plated machines used to carve, drill, etch, cut, flatten, and polish the glass.

Are you looking for something more? Do you want to create your own piece of glass art to bring home while a professional glassblower guides you through the basics of glassblowing? Then look for our other listed class, the #1 airbnb experience in all of Venice
Other things to note
We ask guests to arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of the experience so you have enough time to check in
From Venice, depending on where you are, it might take between 20 and 50 minutes to get to Murano so plan accordingly. A useful app to navigate venice's ferry lines is chebateo (chebateo.it)

Hello,
My name is Roberto. I’m the youngest glass master in Murano and I opened my own shop in 2016. I love glass art and I love to share this love with as many people as I can! I taught glassblowing classes in many schools in the US and in my workshop I create glass pieces for many luxury brands around the world.
I want to show people the behind the scenes of a REAL Murano glass factory with an indepth experience that will be both extremely informative and mindblowing!

Where you'll be

We will be in our factory space, right in the heart of Murano, where we create bespoke glass pieces for luxury design, furniture, and lighting companies from all over the world. The heat from the furnaces will be a new and intense experience that you will remember forever!

We recommend to all this tour visit if you are curious and interested about how the glass/shape of glass is made. From our point of view it's exactly the kind of experience we wanted to do, to understand the production of the glass from start (mixing of the raw materials) to end (the quality control of the product). Benjamin (our guide) was very interesting, he knows very well all process and is able to explain it clearly. He speaks of course fluent English as he is native speaker. Thank you again for your explanation. Alexis and Alina.

Benjamin took us on a wonderful tour through the entire workplace, showing us every step of the process and introducing us to all the guys in the team. The workplace and the tour didn’t feel commercially oriented at all, actually it was just like a friend proudly showing us where he works. Benjamin was very knowledgeable and you could really hear the genuine passion in his storytelling. I feel like this was the best glass tour we could have chosen.
