What you'll do

We work with our guests to create a forged masterpiece.

- Bracelet
- Letters/Numbers (initials, address deco)
- Hair Spike (doubles as a defensive weapon)

- Eating Spoon
- Ladle (cooking spoon)

First, we'll crack on the forge and go over the basics while the material heats up.

Lastly, we'll do final grinding, shaping and sanding. Then we continue to the smoothing and polishing process to remove any sharp edges.

An old world ‘mom-n-pop’ forge shop brought to the 21st century.

We are a small forge and do everything by hand, arm & hammer style. We do not use patterns for knives and other items unless requested. The metal takes a life of its own and guides us. We create knives for various uses from large to small. We also make defensive weapons such as axes, tomahawks, as well as historical weapons for reenactment and practical use such as spearsheads, seaxes, langseaxes, arrowheads, swords, scabbards, etc… We also enjoy making artistic items such as fancy tampers, roses, leatherwork, & more.

Justin has mastered all kinds of art from black belt, to the art of war (OIF Army Veteran), to oil on canvas, to artisanal craftsmanship, Viking fighter and Viking historian, to forging pioneer arm and hammer style. A jack of all trades, master of none.

Where you'll be

We live at the back end of a horseshoe road, so you may come into the street from either end. Cars usually go fast on the main road (663), just have the blinker on and you’ll be alright.

Where can we start? This experience is very worthwhile. Justin made us feel very comfortable in the forge, and we were completely green. He's an intelligent and patient teacher and he possesses a heartfelt passion for his work in the forge. Adriana was very welcoming and greeted us in the front. She also let out the dogs for us to see and I must say that forging metal and puppies is a very relaxing experience. It is incredibly cathartic to smash metal with a hammer and artistically fulfilling to imagine your art and make it come to live. Justin and Adriana are very encouraging of creativity and individuality of expression. If you're uncertain of your vision, Justin is always brimming with great design ideas I would highly recommend talking to him about your design he's very imaginative. Plus I loved his music taste in the forge. If I could give double the stars I would. We're still in shock that we made the art that we did. I created a bracelet, and my friend created the road spike knife. The time you spend in that forge is absolutely worth it. If you're in the area and looking for an experience of a lifetime, hop over to the Ross Forge.

Fantastic experience creating amazing pieces in a creative and fun environment. We did this as a family and everyone loved it - the kids made hair spikes (boys too), I made the marshmallow roaster (definitely recommend!) and my husband made the knife. If you are bringing kids the hair spike (aka throwing spike) is definitely the way to go (right amount of time effort ). Justin and Adrianna were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and patient - great instructions and thoughtful touches. We will definitely be back.

Adriana and Justin were wonderful hosts. Justin patiently guided our group of four to create and personalize our creations. Justin was an excellent instructor and encouraged us to learn by doing while providing feedback and answering every question. He had exactly the right balance between instruction/ explaining techniques and encouraging us to try new tools and immerse ourselves in the experience. In addition to extensive experience and background in forging, He was very knowledgeable about ancient weapons and weapon making techniques. This was truly exactly the type of experience we were hoping for. Bonus—We were also able to help feed newborn puppies which was an absolute delight. Thank you!

This is well worth the money and trip! If you’re a fan of Forged In Fire then this will give you a REAL view of how a REAL blade smith works. Justin was patient and a great guide. Full of good information about blacksmithing. There was no rush and it was very hands-on. I highly recommend this adventure if you’re looking for something out of the ordinary.

All I can say is, EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!!! From the time we pulled in the driveway and met Adriana, until we finished the experience, we were enjoying our time. Justin and Adriana had the entire experience planned out perfectly. From the safety equipment, to the drinks, the snacks, and the knowledge of forging and metalworks, we were making memories and new friends. My son said this was the best part of our mini vacay and that means a lot coming from a 15 yo.

This experience was outstanding! Justin and Adriana were great hosts and took care of the smallest details. Justin is incredibly skilled at his craft and can entertain you with his experiences. I took my 16 year old son and created a memory that he will likely be talking about for years to come. Thank you for an amazing time!
