What you'll do

Cuba is exciting, it has been filled with different cultures such as Spanish, African, North American and pieces of British, Jewish, Chinese ... it surprises so many parts in a single Cuban heritage has mixed with Spanish, European and other cultures. Discovering it will be a memorable experience of your visit to Cuba.

One in particular is the #Afro Heritage, this experience takes the course of taking a deep tour of African migration from a #historical, #traditional and #social perspective. The tour will include real data that will help you connect with the African legacy in the lives of Cubans.

African heritage is more than religious. It is deeply rooted in the life of the #Cuban through food, music, clothing, language and culture. It is really a gift to experience something so valuable for Cubans, but it will also be interesting and fun with Ajiaco and Canchanchara, which are part of that heritage.

Then we will go to Hammel Street, in #Vedado, we will explore the fabulous social project in Hammel. You will have a definitive experience with the afro heritage in #Cuba.

Hello, I'm Miguel. Thank for visiting our Afro Experience!

I am a painter, musician and composer. I love Cuba, it is my country and my everything, as much as you love your country.

I became interested in my culture and I have come to understand that it has deep roots in the Afro. Unfortunately, the idea of the modern erases the essence of the ancentral.

It is my passion and experience to recover those treasures and live them day by day, that is why I say that this experience is about Afro Heritage, but a living Heritage, that is enjoyed and I want to invite you to spend a day with me on this adventure!

Angelo is the online support, he also helps me sometimes with photography and supports me in opportunities, he will also help you with the reservation process and the details.

We invite you to book! We can't wait to meet you!

The best historical experience I had in Cuba after numerous tours. Miguel was excited about sharing his deep personal and historical knowledge of the topic. The tour was tailored to our particular interests and Miguel loved our curiosity. We learned so much in a short time with the walking tour and great conversation. Would very highly recommend this tour with Miguel as a way to expand historical knowledge and make deep connection to a wonderful Cuban!

Miguel and Angelo were very knowledgeable and helpful. Although we were not able to eat the dish that was included in the tour Miguel and Angelo still found a way to accommodate us. My friend and I learned a lot from this tour that we wouldn’t have otherwise learned on our own. I highly recommend booking with them! Thanks again!!!

Ricardo and Miguel were wonderful facilitators, creating a seamless experience for me to learn about African heritage in Cuba. Miguel, a babalawo, guided the tour. He was kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. Throughout the tour, Miguel described the history of enslaved Africans in Cuba and how this legacy is embedded in the social, cultural, artistic and religious lives of Cubans today. As a babalawo, Miguel is able to answer questions about the particulars of Afro-Cuban religion and is adept at describing what is on view in the Casa de Africa. Seeing the Casa de Africa with Miguel as a guide made the experience that much richer. We ended with a refreshing daiquiri and some interesting conversation where I learned more about Miguel’s life in Cuba as a musician and painter, striving to create a good life for him and his family. This easy going conversation made the tour feel that much more personalized and underscored both the beauty of Cuban culture as well as the challenges facing Cuba’s younger generation. I highly recommend this tour! Miguel and Ricardo are great people to connect with during your visit to Cuba.

It has been a magnificent experience. A journey through Afro history in Cuba, knowing the legacy and how it has been mixed has been very exciting. Cuba is a culturally very interesting country, you can learn a lot about life by knowing this social process that has been unique in Cuba. In the end the unforgettable Ajiaco and Daiquiri and the idea of an hour of internet at the end with a Daiquiri to refresh, better thought is impossible. I definitely recommend this tour, it has content and you can ask questions and receive interesting answers.
