What you'll do

09:00: breakfast brief
This time allows us to get acquainted, discuss our goals and expectations, and plan the day.
10:00: morning space
This time enables individual writing. We offer private and shared writing spaces, both indoor and outdoor.
11:00: morning seminar: language and psychological processes
This session focuses on what is known about language and psychological processes. Our focus is character creation, but we also discuss other aspects.
12:00: lunch
Although we encourage guests to access the kitchen at their leisure, a group lunch doubles as a useful opportunity for collaboration and further discussion.
13:00 afternoon space
This time sees a return to individual writing.
14:00: afternoon seminar: hallmarks of authorship
This session focuses on your own uses of language, as authors and otherwise, and how we bring ourselves to our work. Our focus is reflective editing, but we also discuss other aspects of the writing process.
15:00: afternoon tutorials
This time is dedicated to answering your personal queries (e.g. about your work, the craft of writing). All guests are guaranteed a thirty-minute tutorial as a minimum.
17:00: dinner debrief
Share your thoughts and experiences with your colleagues, feed back to your hosts, and plan your next writing move.
Other things to note
Our location is quite rural, and so you may encounter muddy paths. We recommend bringing warm clothes and pracical footwear. We'll do our best to accommodate specific requests.

As a communications consultant, I develop and deliver training courses for organisations (e.g. the NHS) and teach communication and behavioural science, on a sessional basis, at the Manchester Metropolitan University.

    Government ID

    You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
