What you'll do

The tour is approximately 2.5 hours. We will try vegetarian and/or vegan street food depending on guests’ preferences.

In addition to the tour cost $5USD to keep your slots, you will need to cover the costs of the food you try. The total food cost will be around $13USD per person.

We’ll start with a traditional Hanoian coffee down a secret alleyway leading us to a 100 year old house. Then we’ll walk to a small street stall which specializes in traditional cakes. The cake maker’s family has been making these cakes for many years and is famous around the north of the country.
Next we’ll visit a stall who makes a rice dish traditionally served to kings and queens of the past. And finally, we save the best for last; a restaurant where you will experience what a Vietnamese family might eat for dinner together. Traditionally Vietnamese families use dinner time to connect and share. This is where I’ll explain the history and origins of the dishes you choose.

I’m a passionate foodie who loves to connect with people and swap stories and experiences. This is why I keep the tour costs low and ensure the groups are small; my guests appreciate the quality of the experience.

Hanoi has changed an incredible amount over time. But beneath the hustle and bustle, there lies a slow and traditional way of Hanoi life.

It is my pleasure to show you the secrets and traditions from long ago. I consider myself to be a true Hanoian through and through, having lived in Hanoi for 25 years and counting. I would be honoured to show you a unique Ha Noi food experience through old houses, tiny alleys, food and stories of true Hanoian life.

June was an amazing host and the vegan food tour was really special! As a vegan food enthusiast I really appreciated that she showed me specialities and places I never could've found myself and I got deeper understanding of the local foods.

Our tour guide Mun was very lovely! She personalized the tour for us, ordered all the dishes and explained their significance and how they are enjoyed in her culture. Hanoi can be a difficult eating city for vegetarians and she made it feel easy, taught us a lot, and was a very warm guide.

We really enjoyed the tour with June. The food was absolutely delicious! It is a combination of street food and restaurants, but it is all very authentic to the city. June is a great host, very kind and she tells a lot about the Vietnamese culture and where the foods come from. Would definitely recommend this tour!

A great food tour with a mix of street and restaurant food. Ended by having a beer on the famous railway track which was a great way to finish.

This was a great way to try out some Vietnamese dishes other than the famous “pho” - and even better, it was really helpful to learn how to eat Vegetarian food while you’re here. It can be difficult to navigate menus in Hanoi as a veg or vegan, so if you take this experience at the beginning of your trip it can help you learn what to look for on menus during your whole time! I tried foods I wouldn’t have on my Own, and I left the experience with new friends. June was so kind and lovely - and she even brought us some printed papers with food names in vegetarian and recommended restaurants. I’d do it again for sure!

June was friendly, punctual and gave clear instructions for where to meet to start the tour. We went to several local spots in the Old Quarter and tried a variety of vegetarian and vegan treats. The food at Riu Liu in particular was incredible! We ended a tour at a bar overlooking the train tracks. June gave us several suggestions for where to find more good vegetarian and vegan food in Hanoi. She was incredibly sweet and caring and we enjoyed our time with her.
